How do you plan to tour pandora?

With my preview window coming up in a week, I'm been wondering how I want to go through it now that there has been info. a popular daily life vlogger just put out what I thikn might be the best someone visiting perspective of going around and not a "news about pandora" angle..

So I'm starting to think I might be looking at this wrong. I know there is times I go into other standby just for the queue. The queues at these 2 new rides seem amazing and I'm wondering if fastpassing it is a mistake? now for the preview I wouldn't be getting fastpasses but I do plan to head back in after it officially opens to take it in more, explore it at night,etc...

Is anyone else thinking that the fastpasses might be better used elsewhere so you have more time to take it all in with standby at pandora? I knwo some people coming for the 20th are time limited so I can completely understand fastpasses for that. I personally think I want to do standby, just like time to time you need to do it on peter pan and other less themed but interactive queues. For the river journey it almost seems liek you'll miss half the ride and it's more a walking tour than a queue if you just fastpassed it.

I will be fp'ing both rides in the evening on separate days. I'm going to avoid Pandora at rope drop cause I figure that's where the masses will be heading.

I will head over during the day at some point to walk around and check it out and maybe grab a bite at the new counter service if lines aren't too long.

Well, I only have one day and it is actually my arrival day so my plan is to
- get to Animal Kingdom as early as I can and, assuming there is time, make a mobile order for lunch at the Satu'li canteen and go over to get lunch and just explore the land a bit
- Then I am meeting some people for a FP at Everest
- Then we are heading back to Pandora for a FP at FoP
- Planning on Dinner also at Satu'li canteen and then see what waits are but if time ride the river ride standby
- I then have FP for RoL
- After that, heading back into Pandora to explore at night
- As I am staying on site we have until 1am and hoping during those extra hours to have time to ride both rides standby

We are only able to visit every 2 or so years, this is going to be our 3rd time. With everyone going like mad at rope drop, we are going to just do what we've done before and head over to Dino Land with the kids and hit some of the attractions before they start getting too crowded like the Kilimanjaro Safari and whatnot. We did use our Fastpass for Navi River Journey around 3 o'clock in the afternoon we're hoping maybe it won't be quite so crowded then we'll ride that , walk around Pandora little bit, go downtown to have dinner and then if the kids are up for it come back to see it at night for a little while. I am a little bit worried about the crowds there then getting through but that's why we figure it if we just of waited on that area for the first part of the day and let everyone who wants to experience it right away have a chance to see it, perhaps it'll thin out a little bit in the afternoon. We only have one day there and while we would really like to do the navi River Journey ride and walk around some it's not do or die for us.

Following to see others' perspectives. We generally have always done AK as a morning park (half day), but we are hitting it in the pm so we can see it at daylight and dark this time around.

There are a lot of people that don't love AK the way they love the other parks. Curious if this wil sway all of those people. My DH wasn't keen on increasing our AK time on this trip, even with the new land. I booked extra time despite his views, as I know we'll enjoy just poking around.

we have two days planned for Animal Kingdom. the first being our arrival day (from Universal). On that day we have some other activities planned within AK, including ROL, but we also have a FP for FOP. on the next day, we're doing the Wild Safari Trek in the morning and then heading back to the resort for mid-day. Again, we'll go back in the afternoon/evening, do a couple of things outside of Pandora, and then head to Pandora for a FP at 8:00 and then we'll stay in Pandora for as long as we want (up to the 1:00 AM EMH closing, potentially). the FP on that day is my current dilemma. i had the River Journey for that FP but, after watching a few videos (including the one that I think you're referencing), i just changed the FP to FOP. My reasoning is that i think we're going to want to do that ride multiple times for sure. i can still see us standing in line for it along with the two FPs. Assuming the demand for FOP is going to be much higher, i'm thinking/hoping that it won't be too awful to stand in line one time for River Journey. Especially if we wait to do it during the evening EMH.

We have fastpasses for 2 days in a row. I'm going with the attitude that if it's too crowded, we'll see it another time. MY world won't come to an end if we don't get on an attraction. I won't stand in line for more than 30 minutes if I have fastpass.

Heck this is the first of several trips that we have been able to get a fastpass for Frozen. it's not really at a desired time either, but I have basically planned our entire day around it. But if it doesn't work out...oh well!

We are doing a half day to visit in the morning and then visiting at night as well. We plan to FP each ride once. It would be nice if Disney would release their finalized hours for August... But as evidenced in the last several years, that won't happen til July, well after my 60 days. I do want to take in as much as possible and wander through the land & depending on crowds in late August might attempt the stand by as well.
I'll be stalking the boards for sure before then to see what has worked for others lol

I didn't pay attention during CM Preview but I think they should do a 2nd line through standby for those that want to see the queue but not ride, like in Wizarding World and Forbidden Journey, you can tour the Hogwarts Castle but have to leave at the end of the queue.
This will be needed because even if you want to see the queue the standby lines will be long, and I mean at least an hour to two long, I don't know that the queue is worth that.
So maybe you can still use fp for the ride and then take a stroll of the standby queue but without having to wait so long

We're not going until June, but our plan is to get to FoP at park opening, use baby swap, and then head over to our Fp for Rivers... after that maybe grab a small snack item from Santuli and look in the shop

After my AP preview I probably won't be going to AK again until at least December (I feel it's the hottest of the theme parks because of the dense vegetation) so I plan on reading as much as I can about other's experiences before settling on a plan. We may have some issues in our group with FoP and the ride vehicles that we won't know until later as well. I think the FoP Fastpasses will be harder to get than the river ride, so you could see a pretty even split at rope drop, with the people who could get FoP Fastpass going to the river ride standby, and the ones who couldn't get FoP Fastpass heading for FoP first thing. I'm thinking maybe mid-day during cooler weather will be the best time to tour Pandora, but we'll have to wait and see.

We'll be there for a couple of days in early June - I love AK and always do the morning safari and hang out during day, but we normally go in Dec where the temps are more bearable - and there was never an option to hang out at night. I'm changing it up this time and avoiding the park completely during the day - just too hot. We won't even get there till 5-6pm this time...and our FPs are for evening only.

We have one fastpass for each ride - one is 9:30 - 10:30 AM and one is around 11:00 AM on another day. We plan on using our two FP and that's it - we'll walk around but aren't planning on riding either of them standby. Our hope is that it will shorten lines in the other area of the park and we can spend time riding Everest, Dino, etc. more times without huge waits.

I'm not getting in any line that is going to take more than 30 min so we will FP. There isn't a ride at any theme park in the world I'll stand in line hours for. That pretty much eliminates stand by as far as I'm concerned. Unless we luck in to getting there are rope drop and being in the front of the pack somehow. Even if I go to the park every day of the week I am not spending time just standing in line

I think I'm also going to try and observe and learn before our trip in September. We have 2 different FP days in AK, so each will have one of the Pandora rides. But I definitely want to see the queues! So we will get there for pre-rope drop/EMH on our first day and go on one, then hopefully we will be able to get in line for the other before the rest of the crowds can enter. To figure out which ride to prioritize, once it gets closer to the day, I will start getting up early and checking the app during those times to see how fast the wait times are going up.

But yeah, it'll be interesting to see how it all works out.
