We don't stay on site, so I book everything separately, (flights, hotel, car, tickets) when I get a good price. I do use my CC and get points, these points just paid for our flights for a bonus trip in September. We pay this with a bi-weekly savings plan through my DH's work.
That was me!!!!! We used Purolator to ship it and had confirmation that they signed for it and everything. But Disney could not find my money anywhere!
So we had to reissue another money order and this time we used Canada Post but the one where we could get a tracking number.
What I found out from a CM was when you use a private courier service that has to be signed for, it is sent to the Bank Of America and not the Walt Disney Wrld Travel Company. So since it was an employee of the Bank of America that misplaced our thousands of dollars, when we resent it we used Canada Post and sent it to the PO box.
Not sure I would do it this way again. I think this year we are going to just get a US credit card and pay for it that way. Since we stash money into our US bank account all year long, it doesnt make sense to stash it away and then have to pay to reconvert it onto our Cdn credit card.
I have a US Mastercard. It can sit for 10 months without getting any use. But for anything ebay online, or trip purposes, it is awesome. I don't pay the extra fee, and I pay it out of my US funds account that I have. I like the convenience, and when I am in the US, I can make purchases and again not worry about the fee.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if a credit card is mandatory to book a Disney Vacation. I will probably go through Trip Central since I did with our last trip. I had a credit card at that time so I really didn't ask if it is required. My DH and I since then have had to get rid of all our cards and at this time cannot obtain one. Another thing is are payments able to be made in installments? I also paid in full at the time of booking last time since we booked a couple months prior to going. I don't want to wait this time and would like to get the trip booked with a small downpayment and making payments over the months.
