How do you pass the time before you're trip when it's really far away?

My husband and I have went the past two years but unfortunately we are not able to afford to go this year  but we've talked about it and we should be able to go September 2017. Which is awesome! But sooo far away. And I love to plan. So anyway. My question is what do you guys do to pass the time until your next trip? What can I do to plan for it now? What can I do?! Lol

and I just realized I put you're instead of your in the title. :crazy2:

In another couple months (usually July), Disney will put out the info for 2017 packages on the website. So then you can start to price out hotel, tickets, etc. You can book it then if you're ready.

--Spend time on these boards
--Plan "pretend" trips
--work on our savings plan. We have one of those fill-in thermometer papers on the fridge that we color as we save money. All of our spare change goes in a bucket towards our trip airfare. We count it and cash it in once a month, then color in the thermometer.
--have Disney movie nights
--make "Disney dinners" where we try to recreate some of our favorite meals
--look at pictures and journals from past trips
--update my Disney Pinterest boards

As you can see below, we are just under a year to go for our next trip, and we've been planning since April 2015. It's fun to keep up on all the new construction at WDW and talk about how that may change our plans. We "dream out loud" a lot. But mostly, we enjoy the anticipation because that's half the fun to us.

I'm the opposite if my trip is far away I do my best to put it out my mind nd think about other things

-Making and revising ADRs
-Tracking reports of rare character Meet and Greets (I'm on a hunt for Robin Hood)
-Drown myself in WDW podcasts (It's the only thing that's gonna keep me sane at work through summer tourist season here in DC)
-Get my most recent play throughs of the DS/PSP/3DS Kingdom Hearts games up to their respective final bosses so I can beat each one in a different park. (Yes, I'm easily amused. Right now, I'm gonna finish off 358/2 Days in AK, Re:Coded at Epcot, Birth by Sleep at DHS, and Dream Drop Distance at Magic Kingdom)
-Slowly driving my husband quite mad with my consistent bounciness over the trip

Haha that sounds about right.
My husband loves Disney too but can't talk about it quite as consistently as me. Especially when we still have about 450 days

We are 525 days out LOL

We'll be going to Universal for the first time, so I am doing my research on that and being very impatient while waiting to book.

We have two or three years between each trip. All three of us are dying to go back, but we were just there last year and we're in the middle of a home addition that is taking all the extra money right now. I just have to look forward to June 2018 when we go back with DH's sister & her family. There will be nine of us & SIL has put me in charge of planning the trip. I've done all I can as far as planning. I go back over QS menus occasionally, but that's about it. I listen to Disney music, go to discussion boards, watch YouTube videos, watch our home videos & look at our pictures & try to think of ways to save up money until time to book the vacation.

1. We make different "phantom" vacations at different resorts.
2. Look over the dining menus.
3. Check and recheck what refurbishments are going on that are long term to see if anything will be closed while we are there.
4. Compare old trips that we have taken to the new one we will be planning to see how to efficiently maximize our time at each park.
5. Watch youtube videos.
6. Try and talk friends/family into a disney trip allowing them plenty of time to save. (Worked on my DS and DBIL this year and my in-laws last year)
7. Download our photo pass pictures and my wife makes photo books/albums out of them.

Ya know, the typical stuff any disney fanatic would do. :)
