How do you organize your patterned paper?

I'm sure this question has been asked several times before ... however ... I can't seem to find the answers and what I'm currently doing is not working!

I have 3 cropper hoppers, 12 x 12 plastic storage that probably has 100 sheets in it, and 3 DCWV stacks of patterned paper ... I had quite the addiction for a while and whenever paper was on sale, I bought it. I've enrolled in the 12 step Patterned Paper's Anonymous group and I'm in recovery but now I have to figure out how to store it so I can actually find things as I'm working. Is by color best or is it better to do it by things that coordinate?

Any thoughts? I have several "extra" cropper hoppers that I can use so I'm ready to move on an idea that works?

I'm "in the middle" of a layout know - of the birds of Epcot - and would love to find some paper to use but can't!!!!

Mine is sorted by "theme" -- plaids, stripes, floral, Disney, Xmas, Fall . . . etc.
I think you get the picture. Works for me anyway.

I went to Dollar Tree and bought the plastic 12x12 paper holders for $1. (They were similar to the Cropper Hopper ones for $4.99 each at Hobby lobby.)

Anyway, I separated my paper......one is now Christmas, one is Thanksgiving, one is Halloween, one is Disney........etc.

Easy!

My current system is that it separated by family member. What I mean is that when I find paper that is perfect for my DD album I buy it and then put it in her stack, same for DS and same for DH. I then have an "everything else" stack which needs to be re-organized. But essentially in the "everything else" category I have Christmas all together, Easter, Valentine's, you get the picture. Then after the holidays are categorized, what's left over is well... a mess. My DH just recently bought me another paper organizer from Target (found this in the scrapbook aisle) so now I can separate out the "everything else" stack, but first I have to find room for the paper organizer. It's a vicious cycle.

I use the "briefcase" style paper holders. I have four of them and I still have to put some paper on my shelf

First I do it by color. Like; all blue stripped, plaids, polka dots, solids...goes into the blue file.

Then I do it by theme:
Outdoor
Baby
Disney- Each park has it's own file and a misc. Disney file
Holiday's -each it's own file
Travel
School
Ballet
....
You get the idea.

Right now I have mine sorted by color value, pastels, primary, neutrals, a disney category and a special category thet holds hard to categorize papers. I just bought new plastic drawers and this seemed the most logical for me, but I would still like to subdivide these.

mine are by color, then in each color it is sorted by cardstock, solid, and patterned. I also have Cropper Hoppers (CH) for Disney, holidays, and seasons. I have a few sub categories, for kids, and misc.
I have 7 CH's in all, so far this is the best way for me. Someone did take it a step further and sorted the patterned paper by plaid, stripe, flower, etc... If I ever get time I might do this too.

I have mine sorted really simply. It's divided into 3, brights, vintage and Disney. I doubt I have nearly as much as you guys though, one full 12"x12" artbin. My cardstock is in my 2nd artbin and is divided the same way but with two extra sections, black and white.
