How do you organize your books?

So far all our family's memories are in generic albums of pictures that are in a somewhat chronological order. But now that I am getting into this scrapbooking thing, I need a better approach. How do you organize your scrapbook albums? Do you scrap all your pictures or just the "important" ones?

Do you categorize it by year? (2006 book, 2007 book...)
Event or subject? (Girl scout book, Disney book, Christmas book...)
Does each person get their own book? (Mom's book, DD's book, DS's book...)
A little bit of everything?

Each year gets an album, each vacation gets an album. I usually end up with three albums per year.

Each of my kids have an album - they are color coded and I just scrap the important things going on in their lives. Sports, dances, birthdays

I have an on going family album with Christmas, non WDW vacations, beach, fun stuff.

WDW vacation books. I don't start a new book each trip because when we started going I didn't take that many pics and I didn't even know what scrapping was (this was 14 years ago)

DD has a girl scout book (well 2 now)

I have about 27 books either complete or in the making that I have done for my immediate family in the past 10 years.

I am catchin up scrapping my kids lives (I only started 2 years ago and they are 14 and 8 :scared1: ) so they will have a series of albums for their birthdays, school events and so on. I have a separate album for DLP (only a small one!) and one for our 2005 trip to WDW, US and KSC. I have one album for general vacations and days out from 1993-2006 (excluding Disney) and one for our Canadian vacation last year, one started this year for vacations, one album for just 2007 and one fro Christmas. I also have my wedding album done and need to do my honeymoon, 17 years late:rotfl:

I started scrapbooking right after my now DH and I started dating so the plan is to start with "our" lives and go from there. Our Disney Vacations have or will have their own albums and I will do a "yearly" album for us. My goal is to also have an album for our "kids" when those come. HTH.
