How do you not let it get you down?

I don't think most people understand that a lot of planning is required for a Disney trip. I drive my husband crazy with all the tim I spend researching for our trip but he now understand that we have been able to do more b/c of the time spent planning. Don't get upset, plan for yourself and have fun.

I'm the same way...we are going with my sister,brother and their families...I can't help it but I've been reading books, going on line to plan dinners, activities, etc. I've been keeping my family informed and they are basically laughing at me at this point. I don't care because I'm so excited. My 3yo asks me daily "are we going to Disney today" and we're not going till June..lol..have fun planning! If they're not interested, that's their problem, roll it off your shoulders..have fun!! They might be more excited as the trip gets closer..

We have gone to DL with my DH's side of the family many times, and have had a wonderful time. I have asked my side of the family to go with us, and they have always turned me down. I used to get a little bummed because I want to share the magic with them. Now, I am happy to make it our families special secret that only we can understand.

That's why we have the disboards!!!! We actually understand each other in a way no other people can! Even our own families!!!!

My first thought is "every party needs a p**per..." but then I have to agree with everybody else, too. Don't let her get you down. She just doesn't get what goes into it. Plan for you guys and when you see the magic through your child's eyes, tears of happiness are going to come from your eyes! If she wants to participate in that happiness, good for her. If not, her loss. I hope you have a wonderful time. I'm sure you will as long as you don't let somebody else's attitude spoil your happiness. I can't imagine you would. Not with those precious children. Enjoy!!!

Another thing to consider is that some people don't really like the super planned to the minute vacations. They don't want to have every detail planned out. I know for Disney, that's practically unheard of (especially here LOL) but that's bnot "vacation" to some people. My Dad and stepmom's heads would explode if I tried to plan that way for them. They like to play things by ear. It makes it hard to travel with them, since I like at least a little bit of a plan.
