How do you make your trip report index point to a single post only

Hopefully someone can answer this before it get's moved ..lol. I am i process with my first PTR and I need help with creating the index. I think I have the hang of creating a link to the report (in signature) but it does not "light up" when the mouse is over it..like others..hmm..but when clicked it does go to my PTR. The problem is the link is to the whole PTR and I want it to view single post of my update only. Any help would be appreciated..is it just one more step??
