Being in that much of a hurry to get to the next trip (or any other event, milestone, goal, etc.) detracts from the present moment. Instead of making the time go faster, how about searching for ways to enjoy daily life in the meantime. It's good to have a trip to look forward to, but if looking forward replaces experiencing the present, then we're only cheating ourselves out of living our own lives to the fullest. Someday in the distant future, maybe decades from now, would you rather look back on how you enjoyed a few trips but spent the rest of your time waiting for them, or would you prefer to look back and remember lots of great times even when you weren't on a trip. Now here's the best thing. If you start practicing right now, how to appreciate being present in the present, then once you're on your trip you'll be able to be more present in that also, instead of spending each part of the trip anticipating the next ride/meal/activity/show/etc.
