I say caramel because that's the flavor I like.

Please be as specific as you can regarding how much coffee you put in the mug and how much milk.

Do you use Hershey's caramel syrup? How much of it?tf

Update: I made 6 cups of Folgers coffee in my Mr Coffee maker, then I added 2 tsp sugar and 3 tsps Hershey caramel syrup to the hot coffee. When it cooled i put about 10 oz of coffee in a mug then I added ice cubes and about 1/4 cup skim milk. It was the best iced coffee I have tasted. I really never liked Dunkin Donuts iced coffee but like their iced latte and Starbucks was too strong too.

Are you trying to replicate a specific coffee drink? Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, etc.? Are you looking for a latte or a true iced coffee?

Most coffee shops use flavored syrups that are made specifically for drinks. I've never had Hershey's caramel syrup, but I imagine it would taste quite different if you usually have caramel coffee from coffee shops.

You can buy the syrups from Starbucks or there are a few others you can buy online or in retail stores. I'd suggest getting a pump top as well. Starbucks uses 4 pumps for a 16oz drink and 6 pumps for a 20oz drink.

As for making iced coffee you pretty much have three options 1) brew double strength to account for the dilution when poured over ice 2) brew regular strength and chill before drinking 3) cold brew your coffee by steeping ground coffee in water for up to 24hrs (note this tastes quite different from brewed coffee)

As for the ratio of coffee to ice to milk it all depends on personal preference.

I like lots of ice so I fill a glass with ice then pour coffee nearly to the top and then add a good pour of full cream or half and half.

Well I go to Starbucks they make it perfectly.

Not caramel, but I use this recipe from Pioneer Woman to make the best iced coffee concentrate. I don't even like coffee but anyone who has a glass says it is the best iced coffee they have had. Last a really long time in the fridge. You can add any flavor you like as well.

I make 1/4 of the recipe (2 quarts) and it last for a good long time.

This is the recipe that I use. It makes awesome iced coffee!!! I do add sweetened condensed milk, and whatever flavored creamer I am in the mood for. Mix it all up in a pitcher and you are good to go!

I was trying to do the same with the butter pecan flavor that DD had. I have a single cup Keurig and I think I have gotten pretty close. I use one of the Keurig adapters and fill it with fresh ground DD regular coffee, 12oz of water, International Delights southern pecan creamer, and 2 sweet n' low's.

I brew the coffee first and then let it sit for about 30 minutes (you have to let it cool down first or else it will turn watery from the melting ice). I just use the measuring cup to catch the coffee since I don't have anything else big enough but will fit under the dripper.

While the coffee is dripping I add the sweet n' low.

I use a 24oz Tervis Tumbler. Fill to the 2nd line with creamer, add ice almost to the top, and then pour the coffee over the ice.

It's not exactly the same, but darn close and it has saved me a lot of $$$!

When I am in a hurry I brew right before leaving the house and just don't add the creamer and ice to my Tervis until I get to work.

Yes to Pioneer woman's recipe! And once I actually added sweetened condensed milk like she suggests and omg so good. A little of that and some good caramel syrup would be delicious!

I wish I liked iced coffee!!! I make it for someone and it smells so good but never liked coffee. My DD's add French Vanilla creamer and say that is sweet enough for them.
