How do you like All Star Movies?

We have never stayed anywhere other than a DVC resort, but we are taking a quick, cheap, last minute trip and thought we'd give it a try. The kids have been asking when they can stay in the Woody wing! Does anybody have any reviews or advice they could share?

It's perfect for a quick, inexpensive trip to disney with kids. They will enjoy it. It's very disney themed. It can feel crowded. The rooms are typical hotel rooms. I haven't been in a while, but I kinda miss the place.

You'll notice the smaller room size if you've only stayed at DVC resorts, but I bet your kids will love it! The theming is great. I stayed in the Herbie section and had a wonderful time there. I'd gladly stay there again if the opportunity arose. (I'm usually at the DVC resorts also.)

We stayed at a DVC last time...this time we wanted an inexpensive trip too. My girls are dying to go back and we are suprising them.

On the flip side my husband does not share my enthusiasm. He is really nervous about all of us in one room. Now as it is getting close so am I. But here is what we are doing. Since it is so inexpensive we convinced my parents to go too. This way..if they do grant adjoiining rooms it will seem a bit bigger.

Just do it...how bad could it be...it's disney!!!!!!!!!!! If you can wait to book I'll give you first hand info when I get back...just send me a private message and I will send you an email when I get back...I am leaving in less than a month if you can wait....

stavidt, we will be entering this unknown frontier at the same time! We leave next Friday -- we got a really inexpensive netsaver fare and since my husband couldn't take the time from work I'm taking the two older kids as a surprise! I can hardly keep it to myself, I'm so excited!

They did catch me looking at the hotel on the website, saw the gigantic Woody, and said "When can we stay THERE Mommy?!" They're going to completely lose it when they find out. I think I'll tell them on the way to the airport!

I feel like you do -- it's Disney, who cares? We will only be there 3 nights, I can deal. But I am spoiled by DVC size and extras...

We stayed at ASMo our first trip in '06 with our DD, then 10 yo. It was really a cute resort. The themeing is over the top. The only reason we don't stay again is becuase at the time of year we go it is the cheerleading competition and all those kids are put in the Value resorts. So it was a little chaotic.
Just the other day DD said I really like the over the top themeing at All Stars I just didn't like the crowd.
You will enjoy it!

My DS and I stayed there in 2005. He LOVED it! We stayed on the second floor of the Toy Story section, and overlooked Andy's Room. Great photo ops, and great value for the price! Some pics:

we've been there twice and really enjoy it although both times it took us FOREVER to check in and out. Other than that, everything was great! We will be going back!

Wow...you will be there before me! I can't believe it is so soon. I went and bought new princess dresses for them last night...of course I hid them in the basement. ...I figured Halloween is not too far away. I will be telling them on the way to the airport too...they will figure it out b/c the only place they have been in a plane is disney...I hope I can hide all the packing from them

BTW, I only wanted to do one character dining experience and got my first choice of time and day with only 2 weeks notice, the Disney gods are definitely smiling upon me on this trip!!!!

My kids love ASM! Out of all the resorts we've stayed at, ASM is their favorite. The theming really can't be beat.

Our first Disney Resort experience was at All Star Movies and we loved it!! It will most likely seem like a big step down for you from DVC, but the kids will have a blast!
