You don't! Well not for much longer anyway....

New state law.

If you are in the food service industry and work in the kitchen, no rings allowed at all, period.

If you are in the front of the house, a plain gold, silver, titanium band will be allowed. No engraving, diamonds, or other gem stones will be allowed.

Good grief!

I've had the same ring on for over 10 years! Looks like I'm gonna have to pry it off and lock it up now! (It has a few diamonds in it)

Honestly, is this all they have to worry about? Has the health inspector been to a Waffle House lately?

My wedding ring doesn't come off! I am pretty sure DH's ring doesn't, either. We are heavier than we were 17 years ago when we first put them on. :rolleyes1

No shortage of stupid laws, unfortunately!

It's gonna take some effort to get mine off! I smashed my knuckle a few years back, and it's a little larger than it was. I cant remember the last time I took it off.....

geee my slides right off at the slightest provocation. :rotfl:

Part of the problem with mine is that it isn't really round anymore - it is oval. A jeweler once told me it is from the ring pressing on the steering wheel when I drive. :confused3 The bands are pretty thin, so I guess they are relatively soft. They used to be soldered together, but they popped apart at some point several years ago. Since they really are too tight I don't have issues with the engagement ring sliding up out of the ring guard.

If I DID have to take them off the big groove in my finger would be enough to alert people to my marital status. :rotfl2:

We are both secure in our relationship, so it's not really an issue. He offered to go get me a plain gold band, but we are just gonna go with the flow for a while, see what happens. I have a feeling someone is going to file a lawsuit.

I know if I took it on and off on a daily basis, I would just loose it, so I'm just gonna lock it up....and play the single game for a while! :rolleyes1

Okay, I agree it is a totally stupid law. Goodness gracious--what an idiotic move.
That said--DH has to take his off often at work (for valid reaasons--he works with big plastic molds, steel grindes, etc--jewlery can easily get caught and cost you a finger or hand). The company pays to resize any rings for people who need it. Anyway--once you get into a routine of where to keep it and taking it on and off before/after work it is really not that hard to keep up with it. Personally--I am weird--I can't stand to sleep with any jewelry on so I take mine off every night:rolleyes1

Why is this a health risk???? Chris hasn't put his ring on in YEARS - it doesn't fit and he hates wearing it. I wear mine every day. Just stupid!

As for the ring rule, next they'll be telling us what kind of underwear we can have! What will happen to Rosie?? popcorn::
