How do you know if you broke your nose???

Aside from pain that is. I was coming in from bringing out the trash and when I opened the door the top part of the screen door came out of its groove and smacked my right on the bridge of my nose.
It didn't bleed but it hurts like heck. It has swelled up a little. It looks a teeny bit askewed off to one side, but I'm italian so it already looks like I have a broken nose! LOL


It really hurts.......

I recall one baseball game when I was in my early 20's, going in to catch a pop fly, DH tried to "protect" me and I slammed right into him. Now back then I was a size 12 and he is a 6'4" solid giant. I thought I broke my nose, I have never felt such incredible pain in my life. Let me say I think childbirth hurt less, and I had a 22 hour back labor baby! I ended up going home from work early the next day because I thought my head was going to explode every time I looked down or moved it! I was in the car with DH and we stopped at his parents, his smart alec brother came out and when he heard what happened, in his not so nice way he took my nose and twisted it and said does it hurt here? It popped and as I screamed I wanted to choke him, but what turned out to be a cruel mean thing was a Godsend as my nose was officially out of joint, lol! Immediate relief. If it were me I would go to the hospital to have it checked out, I was young and stupid then.....still am on some days, lol! Feel better!

I used to box (aqround a hundred amature fights and 7 pro) and had my nose brokeen 3 times. .


They way I could always tell it was broken rather then just sore was the next day both eyes would be black but just underneath..

Not scientific I know and unless your having a lot trouble breathing out of one side or the other they don't really do a heck of a lot, but if you have two black eyes tomorrow and want to know for sure head to your doctor for an X-ray. .

Saturday I was outside moving the kids basketball hoop, I turned around and smacked my nose on my hanging plant. I have a red bump on the bridge of my nose that hurts but no swelling.
My eyes aren't black and blue.

It's really sore though

When my DS broke his nose, he had alot of bleeding, then swelling, then black eyes.

I hope you didn't break your nose.

dd9 actually slipped on a boat this weekend and cut the bridge of her nose and it's swelled up. I thought it was broken too, but I figured when she stopped crying to ask for icecream it was ok. Hope yours is too.
