I keep them in my purse....all of them. We only bring them out for DH and DS to use at the turnstiles and then they give them back to me. I'm also the FP runner; so I tend to only take them on when I collect FP.

There are lanyards you can buy/get or bring one from work/home to hold them. I tried it one year and found that it didn't quite suit me. I was constantly worried that the lanyard would fall off.

We do exactly this as well :)

Same. But hubby is the ticket holder and fast pass runner. I only touch mine when going through the gate in the morning!!

I used a lanyard - I held all KTTW cards for my family (4) and I also slotted any FP we had to use in there too. Hubby was the FP runner so I would hand him the whole lanyard to throw around his neck:) I kept the Photopass card in a separate lanyard (given to me by the P/pass people).

I never lost anything and I found this easy to access the cards - I didn't carry a purse at all in the parks (which felt very freeing).

Maybe I am misreading this but in the title the OP asks how do you take care of PAPER TICKETS. If you have paper tickets you will need to trade them in at guest services for RFID card tickets. All the turnstiles are gone now and all they have are the RFID readers at the entrances.

I think the OP might be going to Disneyland which doesn't use RFID, just paper tickets. I kept mine in a card wallet in a separate slot in my bag, kept it safe but handy so I didn't have to go searching through my purse for it. It also meant if I wanted to go bagless I could add my debit/credit cards to the wallet and put it on my pocket.
