I'm addicted to Trip Reports, however I can't seem to find a way to keep them all straight. I can never remember if I've read them, then if I have, what days have I read. With most people starting a new thread for each day I just can't seem to keep them straight. Any ideas? I thought posting to all threads would be the answer, but I'm not so sure now. I'm about ready to get a notebook and write down all the titles and what chapters/days I've read. But that seems like alot of work. So PLEASE share your tricks to reading trip reports! THANK YOU!

The only way I can remember is to write down the name of the poster and the last day I read. It used to be when you read a post it would turn a different color than the unread ones and made it so easy. They are all the same color now so I just write it down.

That seems like work to do all that...can anyone recommend another way....i can't tell you how many half reports i've read. :sunny:

Maybe you could email Webmaster Alex and ask if there is a way.

i have the same issue
i prefer when someone puts all chapter in one thread its all right there
if not there are som any posts i am alway ssearching around
or if they link up all the reports its so much easier
so many time i end up re reading stuff over and over
or the OP posts part 1 and then finishes or its weeks between posts but when they dont link or place all in one thread you have to go al searching
i also wish there was a better way than writing down the op name and chapter i left on
right now its the only way i can keep it straight

awesome question to the OP who started this thread!

I love when posters either do their entire report in one thread or offer links to the next chapter.. It is way too difficult to try and search around for the next one. There are many I never was able to finish reading.

I try to only read trip reports that have been finished. First, I go to the bottom of the forum and sort the threads by thread starter. Then I go through the list and read reports that look like they're finished. I don't start reading ones that only have the first couple of days up.

This isn't a very good system though, because I can't tell for sure if the poster has finished posting segments. And I still forget whether I've read a report or not, so I'll start reading one then realize I've already read it.

Then there's the problem of someone having a catchy report title and I break down and start reading it from the beginning. This just happened with zdad's report (which I am thoroughly enjoying). Now I have to keep coming back to see if he's posted more segments so that I don't lose track. It's not hard to do with just one trip report, but would be a real pain to do with all of them.

I've benn writing down the posters name then doing a search every so often to find out if they have posted anything new!

Click on the persons name. You will see "other posts by this person". Click on that and it will bring up all their threads. Then I can find all their threads for their trip reports.

Glad to learn this little know fact. It can come it to use a lot in reading trip reports. I agree with earlier post the when they are all linked together on each post is really nice in keeping up. Maybe the administrators for this trip forum and develop an outline on proper trip posting might be an idea

I use the Swan and Dolphin color style and it changes colors when you have read it. Really helps on all the forums. The place to select a color style is on the main page at the top on the left.

I thought I was the only one who was "tripreportlexic"! :teeth:

:love2: Thank You SOOO much. This makes it MUCH easier to keep track of what I've already read. I also noticed that the "Disney Vacation Club" colors change too.
