I have to ask this to those of you who stay "on property" at the Disney hotels. Out of curiousity only...How do you justify the $$$???
Here's why I'm asking...We are going to WDW in September and have chosen to stay off property at Windsor Hills. We found a 3 BR townhouse (with splash pool) for $775 for a week, taxes and all fees included. A ridiculously good deal.
DH and I have talked at length about staying on property, and fully intend to when our children are older and will remember the trip (they will be just under 3 - ie free
- and 14 mos in Sept.) For now we can't justify spending the $$$ on a Disney hotel because the kids won't even remember the trip when they are older. Also, DH and I are spoiled - we do not want to stay in a 1 BR hotel room, having to go to bed with the kids, and having no living space to enjoy a little down time when kids are asleep. We want space, and have decided that when we finally do stay at a Disney hotel, that we want to be able to afford a villa, Jr. suite, 2 connecting rooms, or something similar (like I said, we are admittedly spoiled
) So for now, Windsor Hills works perfectly for us.
THAT SAID - we also realize the "magic" we are missing by staying off property, not to mention the convenience, which is why we want to do this when our children are older.
Anyway, I was just wondering how people do it? Justify the cost of staying at a disney hotel. Sell it to me folks
Actually, no need to sell really. I'm already sold. I just want to hear out of curiosity more than anything. How different is the experience of a Disney vacation staying on property?
I grew up about an hour+ from WDW, and thus have been in love
with the magic since I can remember. We live in CT now, and while I want my children to experience the magic of Disney, we have to factor in hotel fees, rental car, plane tix, etc. We're not cheap, but it can get very pricey.
Anyway - just curious how everyone feels about it. TIA
