How do you jazz up your burgers?

Well, it's a big grilling weekend, and like many people, we are hosting a cookout. We're going to have the usual food burgers/dogs/brats, but I found out that my FIL and BIL don't like the way I make my burgers, so I thought I'd try to get some new ideas on how to jazz up the all-american beef burger for the grill to try and accommodate everyone.
What I usually do is throw in 1 packet of lipton beefy-onion soup mix( or any other brand, I just use lipton) to 1 pound ground beef. I think it gives it a really good flavor, but be warned, you may need to use your beeno to avoid losing any wall paper in your house. :rolleyes1

Any other ideas?

Worcestershire sauce and salsa! Yum!

Oh and lots of cheese. :thumbsup2

Worcestershire sauce, feta cheese, and some Mrs Dash

substitute the liptons with a-1 sauce. we like to top with grilled onions and horser radish cheddar cheese (our local safeway carries it sliced in the deli)

do some with oregano, basil and garlic powder (offer jarred marinara in place of catsup as a condiment)-put mozzerela on top

do some with cilantro and chili powder (offer salsa as a condiment)-put pepper jack cheese on top

DH makes the yummiest burgers.

He adds, A-1, Worchesteshire (?SP?), and garlic salt.

They are heavenly!

A couple tablespoons of brown sugar to a lb of burger.
Don't knock it till you try it!!

bbq sauce!

I made some burgers on the george foreman grill a couple weeks ago and hubby loved them. I mixed the bbq sauce right in with some parmesan, but then also topped them with carmelized onions, mushrooms, a drizzle of bbq, swiss cheese and bacon. They were delicious!

I add worsteshire (sp?) sauce, garlic, and onion soup mix and then I fill a few with crumbled bleu cheese. Just make two thin burgers add the blue cheese on top of one and top with the other burger and join the ends together. You can add cheddar like this too. YUM!

My mother is a big time carnivore and frankly likes her meat PLAIN ! ! (plain to be drawn out and spoken like a caveman) All she requires is good meat.

My DH adds A-1 Sauce and diced onions to his. They are sooo good. ::yes::

I like to cook my burgers over real charcoal with chunks of mesquite wood added to the fire. I find the ground meat with the most fat and season the burgers on one side with Lawry's Seasoned Salt. I like to top off the burgers with extra sharp cheddar cheese.

I find that using the oinion soup mix dries out the burger too much. So I mince up 1 clove of garlic and a little bit of yellow onion and mix that in with the burgers with just a few splashes of worchestershire sauce. Lots of flavor, and they are nice and juicy. Then I leave the toppings to the guests, I put out as much stuff as I can think of. I like to saute onions and mushrooms and bits of bacon. I also but out several types of cheeses, sliced tomato, lettuce, raw onion, Tobasco sauce, yellow and Dijion mustard, both mayo and Miracle Whip, salsa, and anything else I can think of!

Hmmm. I think DH and I will have burgers tonight, this is making me hungry!

We tried the Lawry's seasoned salt this past week when DH grilled burgers and I was pretty impressed. They were tasty and easy. :)

Butter burgers! Take a stick of butter and add garlic and any other seasonings you like. Freeze the butter. Make two patties and take a chunk of butter and put in between. Seal the edges and grill. When you bite into them the butter is all melted and oozes out as your eating it. YUMMY!

Ever since I discovered Angus burgers, I haven't needed to use much of anything on them! Mmmmm. I do use McCormick's Montreal steak seasoning. They have a hamburger seasoning, but I prefer the steak.

DS loves it when I make "meatloaf" burgers, seasoning the ground beef much in the same way I'd make meatloaf. I don't use the soup mix, but rather a frozen onion/green pepper/celery mixture.

We4Mickey, I kind of cringed at your butter burger, but then I realized that some of the best steaks I've ever had were made with butter. Hmmmm.

Speaking of which, I used to make a melted butter and A1 steaksauce mixture to put on steaks. It was to die for.

In our house, they're called Mommyburgers (yes, one word)

2lbs ground beef
1/2 pkgs Lipton onion/mushroom soup mix (anything else causes problems for other members of the household)
2 tbspns teriyaki
2 tbspns worcestershire
1 heaping tbspn minced garlic
salt and pepper

Grill then serve on toasted english muffins with an onion slice.

Now I need to get some ground beef for this weekend!

For 1 lb. of hamburger meat, I use:

a handful of fresh parsley, finely chopped
about 2 tbs. grill seasoning
2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
couple shakes of Worcestershire
a sprinkle of grated parm. cheese

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM! :)

All I do to mine to dress them up is add several slices of crispy bacon to them Mmmmmmmm
