How do you interpret this?

Hi, I'm sorry you've been caught in a camping forum vortex...it really is a friendly bunch. As for the constitutional debate, I interpreted it as follows: The Constitution guarantees all of us freedom of speech and that includes giving Rusty the right to do vow renewals on the Fort particularly if they are a non-commercial venture (which disney would have the ability to regulate). We don't have a constitutional right to have 3 cars and 6 tents on a site nor 25 people if that is my "immediate" family, or open fires for smores. Disney has the ability to limit that as they see fit. Many of the state campgrounds I stay in have bigger sites but only allow 6-8 people per site so I see Disney's 10 people allowed as pretty generous.

Thanks very much. I appreciate you taking the time to explain.

Rajak, when the Front Desk was called, they came down and spoke with our daughter and son in law. We had just arrived later evening from a park day, and it was after 10:00 pm. The CM said they tried to call the number assigned to the site, and no one answered, and would address the situation in the morning. The next morning/afternoon came and went, and again that evening, generator was running. A call was made, and they came down, and we were informed that they were leaving in the morning. At that time our daughter was told she was being credited two nights stay for the noise. Saturday, Jan. 2, lots of empty sites, and our daughter now moved next to us, and the site our daughter was available for this "tow vehicle" to move, as well as another site two spaces away from the site they were double occupying. Did not move, sites remained available, and Sunday evening, the "tow vehicle" fired up its turbo, shook the campground and left. So, we learned its not who you are, but its who you know!!! All in all, it did NOT ruin anybody's time, but during that $$$$ time between Christmas and New Years, we could have saved some money and had both our fivers on one site for four days and saved about $550.00. Lessons learned (none).
Yep, I would have been mad too about the generator running all night. Glad it didn't ruin anybody's time, it's just too bad people are so inconsiderate.

To an extent I guess we see this at other campgrounds we stay at (the rules being bent I mean), but for it to happen at Disney does make it into a bigger deal. I can honestly say I've not seen two campers utilizing a single campsite before. By this I mean two trailers / RVs.

I am even more perplexed as to how it is that Disney did not immediately fix the problem. Unless, of course, they stuck with a problem of poor wording on their rules (as Denise pointed out) and that the guest used this against them.

If they did, it was inconsiderate of the other guests, but clever non the less.

Lodge, sorry to have ruined your day with my poor grammar. Will be more careful next time. Heads up, we are being critiqued, when trying to post in a moment of passion.
Are you kidding?!? I can't avoid it myself! Dang English teach cursed me with her rules!

I remember 1 camping unit and 1 tent or 2 tents, 10 people and 1 vehicle rules clearly stated. Not anymore. We also saw 2 other sites in Jan that had 2 camping vehicles on them. Heck if we can split the cost, we could come in in Dec instead of waiting for Jan. (just cant pay that much for a site) Barb start looking for a smaller camper! LOL

Denise, if you read my other post regarding Alaska, a smaller camper might happen!!!! Sob sob!! But if not, I think if we position those slides just right, we can fit two!!!

You're on Vince! Got no problem with that. We can share the outdoor kitchen.

Back one camper in and pull the other in going wrong way. You can share an awning.

I am laughing while I read this. Right now 1500 and most of 1600 is anarchy. 3 or 4 tents strewn all over each site and between, cars all over the place and every other rule imaginable being broken. Meanwhile the lady across from us last week was asked to move her car over so all 4 tires were on the pad.
Its pretty much a free for all right now. I havent seen a ranger all weekend and security wouldnt get out of their car if it was on fire.

bdd,

You are EXACTLY describing why I moved up to Preferred sites the last couple trips. And if I have to go to Premiums and still get the rules enforced, I will.

We are in1700 right now. Originally they tried to put us in 1600 but the site didnt work, I sure am glad it didnt.
The group camp area is full and with the group in 1500 & 1600 theres a ton of tenters right now. Not much I can do about it right now but I do plan to share my thoughts with the front desk before I leave next week.

bigdisneydaddy,

IIRC from years ago, you know or used to know one of the Fort Cast Members named Miss Sundee who used to do the Campfire Singalong. I really enjoyed her because she would not settle for anything less than our best at the SaL. I heard after the Fort she went to work over at Saratoga Springs but I don't know if that is correct.

Do you still keep up with her? Or am I mistaken? I'd like to know if she is still working at WDW and what she is up to. Hope you can help a Miss Sundee fan out!

Bama Ed

PS - I wanted to send this request as a PM/Conversation but your settings will not allow it.

We had breakfast with her a couple weeks ago. She works as a greeter at Epcot. We always reminisce about the Fort days. She misses the performing but she enjoys the people.
I can put in a good word for you if you would like. Lol

Well please tell her she still has fans besides yourself out there. Everyone who performs now is good but they dont quite measure up to her.

Have a fun stay at the Fort.

I passed along your comment. We are having breakfast with her tomorrow so we can reminisce.

Thanks man! Bama Ed

PS - I remember the time during the sing a long it was a low attendance time and Chip & Dale made their meet-n-greet rounds in just a couple minutes. Miss Sundee must have deviated from the script because she did a song where we formed a conga line with one chipmunk at the front of the line and the other at rear. We shuffled through the gravel and the old log bench rows. It was totally cool! Have never done it since...
