How do you heat up a hot dog?

boil on the stovetop. Then in a plain white bun topped with red onion sauce and sauerkraut

I have a gas stove and my preference is to jab them with a fork and roast over the flames.

My uncle prefers the boiling method. He calls the water “hot dog gravy” and will dip bus/slices of bread in it or drizzle it over the hot dog like a condiment.

Since I got an air fryer, it's the only way I will eat a hot dog (at least if I prepare it).

Preheat air fryer for a few minutes, put hot dogs in for about 5 minutes, shaking basket around about half way through. If feeling particularly fancy, I'll then put the hot dog in a bun and place back in air fryer for about 1-2 more minutes to toast the bun just a touch. Usually I just eat them on bread though.

They are seriously the best and easiest hot dogs I've ever made.

Seemed a shame to waste it really. I had a sip of it and thought it was too good to just toss in the sink.

We have a joke in our house about DH eating “hot dog soup” (the water the hot dogs had been boiled in) when he was a kid.

I have only boiled hot dogs a few times and that was when my kids were little and we had seen a cute idea where you make a little octopus with the hot dog and serve it with shell-shaped pasta.

Boil them long enough to warm them in the middle. Just don't let them sit around in the water for a long time after that. You're leaching out the spices.

Since I have had mobility standing and finger issues. My quick way to cook hotdogs is to space two Ball Park Angus hot dogs and microwave for 3-minutes.

Then I place the hot dog in buns and microwave for 30 more seconds.

Then add mustard and Publix pre-cut onions.

The hot dogs not burnt, but just the way I like it;

Buns are softer and warm.

Best I can do for now.

But it works for me as long as I make it to the kitchen.

I don't really like hot dogs much so rarely cook them, but I had to click on this thread to see how in the world there were 50 responses to "How do you heat up a hot dog?" I figured all three or four ways would have been covered in about...3 or 4 replies.
