How do you handle other guests that are rude?

I remember a time someone was yelling bad words in a ride or telling their child to punch a Disney character in the stomach or someone who squeezed Pooh's rear among other things. How do you tell with other guests that are rude?

Of course, if somebody is using flash in your eyes in a dark ride or shoving you in line, standing up for yourself is an option as well. Just don't get yourself in a situation you cannot handle.

if it affects me personally I stand up for myself, I dont let line cutters past me, if a space invaders tries to squeeze in and shoves me they get shoved back, etc etc. Basically I treat people the same way they treat me.

Anything else is just not my business. Obviously if I see something not right I will alert a CM, thats part of their job, to deal with issues and problems.

Like others said, if they're rude to someone else, I frankly ignore it for the most part...unless it's to the point of utter bullying. If they're rude to me and my family, let's just say I've exchanged a few unpleasant greetings with some guests. Even DW nearly stomped a lady who was being rude to our kids.

There's no need to put yourself in a situation that could lead to an unfortunate confrontation. Do a quick search on youtube of people doing just that and what happens next. I've got better things to do than to have to deal with people who won't let things go over silly little issues.

We are on vacation, best advice is to move on and don't let it bother us.

Happy travels.

If I see someone giving a CM a hard time and the CM handles it well, if I have time I find a supervisor and tell the supervisor what a great job the CM is doing. I have seen people be brutal to CMs at the stroller pens, at FP lines, in stores. A commendation to a supervisor means a lot.

I usually ignore it, unless, like others have said, it is actually harming my family, myself, or someone else.
As for line cutters, others have said they don't let them pass....I do.
But I get loud and make it a point to embarrass them so everyone knows they're coming through.
It's even worse for them then to have to stand in line ahead of others that they cut, with all eyes on them.

It happened last year to us on Peter Pan.
A couple of girls, I'd say about early 20's, started cutting through, saying they were meeting up with their party (which I can't stand, but ok)
They got about 3/4's of the way through the line when they stopped.
I'm thinking they met their friends or family at that point.
As I'm watching them giggle, I realize they were by themselves and just cut through everybody by lying.
My head was ready to explode.
So I yelled out to them sarcastically (and I'm 6'7" so they couldn't miss)
"Did you find your friends? Where's your friends?" (Their faces turned red)
"Ohh so you basically cut every family because your time is more important? Ok cool. Thanks. Have a nice day"
Then as the queue winds around back and forth we wound up right near them, in perfect ear shot, and I explained to my daughter (4) what cutting the line was, and how we don't do that, because it's not nice to others.
The mortified look on their faces was priceless.

I usually just complain about rude people to my husband or my kids.

However, two weeks ago we were in the stand by line for Toy Story. It was a 50 minute wait and getting longer. We were into it about 25 minutes, where about 6 football players were trying to get in with the family two in front of us. I watched for some time but then started to tell them there is no way this group of kids is joining their party of 5. Whoever the adults were that they were trying to join, claimed they weren't letting them cut but they entertained them long enough for it to appear that way. These kids walked in front of a lot of people, and pulled the gate open to join them and no one said a word. When I called them out - something I never thought I would do - they left. Not to the back of the line, but the whole ride. Because their time is more valuable than ours and they didn't want to wait the 50 minutes. I was livid. Since they were all wearing their team's shirts, my husband wanted me to email the school and let them know how these boys were disrespecting the school by their poor behavior.

Sometimes you need to stick up for yourself. Some things you need to let go. It depends on the situation.

Very simple....I don't. Not my job to handle other adults. I did see someone allowing their child to urinate in line at FOP las tweek and I told a cast member so it would be cleaned up, they didn't say anythign to the gust that did it.

We've asked people using bad language to please stop because we didn't want my nieces to hear that language. Thankfully, they were very nice about it. Other than that - it's been more internal family discussions along the lines of, "that's not something we would do and here's why" when my nieces were younger.

Come on!!!
That's disgusting.
No excuse there...they offer bathroom passes to leave line and come back.

I don't think there's a such thing as a "bathroom pass."

I never heard of it either, until lately, I read it a bunch here on the forums. Especially on the FOP threads. That if you're on line and have to go, to tell a CM and they'll give you some sort of pass to leave and come back as a courtesy.
I definitely have heard of it here a few times.

Either way, doesn't excuse a parent from having their child urinate in public.

Is this for all rides? My son will be a week shy of 3 on our next trip. Not sure where we will be at potty-training wise by then, but having a bathroom pass available would certainly alleviate anxiety over possibly having a newly trained child on a Disney trip!

Oh, and totally agree on the second point. No excuse for it at all. I don't get why some people don't seem to think their kids deserve an ounce of dignity.

I don't know.
I will search the forum and try and find where I have read it.
But it was specifically on the FOP discussions.
I could be wrong, but it was said that there's a bathroom somewhere right in or near the ride that you can be escorted to?

Like I said, I'll try and verify.
Don't want to state this as fact and mislead.

Hmm... Could be, but there is no cast member in the queue until the merge point... You would have to 'swim upstream' back to the entrance, unless talking when it is super long line outside.
