How do you give your dog medicine?

Most of the time I put it on the back of her tongue, and rub her neck. If the pill is kinda big, or vet says it tastes bad, I cut up a small vienna sausage and push the pill into the center of it. The sausage is soft enought that the dog ususally does not chew it very much, and swallows the pill whole.
