How do you get to Disney?

We have drove to FLA for the last 3 years. (We have a relative near Gainesville)
We get up and are on the road by 3am (central time) and drive till 10 or so. We stop for lunch and fuel then back on the road. Stop outside of Atl for fuel and dinner around 5 or 6. Then role into Gainesville around 10:30pm (eastern time). Very long day; however, we spend the next day resting. Then we stop there and rest a day before driving back.

Took my 1st trip In August 2007. Left Los Angeles on a Thursday, earliest American NONSTOP flight available. Arrived in Orlando @ 4:00 pm ish. Arrived @ CSR by 5pm. Returned on a Sunday, on a 1pm ish American NONSTOP flight and landed @ LAX by 3pm. Returned to work on Wednesday.

My 2nd second is for Jan 23rd-29th, SW NONSTOP flight @ 3:40pm. (MUST go to church first. To thank God for letting me hang with Mickey & the crew)
My return is 12:55pm Saturday. (MUST go to church on Sunday, To tell God about my good time with Mickey & the crew).

We have done both and honestly I prefer to drive.

When we fly we like to take the first morning flight to Disney(so we can get to Disney early and make the most of our vacation) and an early afternoon flight home(so we don't have to get up too early after a long week of walking and late nights in Disney).

When we drive we prefer to leave home around dinner time and drive through the night, coming home we leave after breakfast or before noon (depending on what last minute shopping I need to do), sometimes we stop over on the trip home sometimes we drive straight through, we play it by ear depending on how tired we are.

For years DH said that he would never, ever drive to Disney and that I was crazy for suggesting it. Well, a few years ago I finally got him to give it a try (I told him that we should just try the drive once and if we/he was miserable then we would never do it again), he was hooked. He said that he liked the freedom of being able to go when we wanted, having a car while in Florida without having to spend the money to rent one, and his favorite perk of all was how much cheaper it was to drive. We also think that driving is part of the fun.

I just did a quick mapquest for the fun. 1118 miles to disney and another 1118 back. Thank goodness for some Jet Blue (p.s. when yall coming down on your fares, jeez.)
