Once I added my Ticker (correctly, finally)....it automatically added it to my old posts....

There's nothing wrong with testing in a thread, but it is maybe a little more convenient to test with the signature test where the signature code is pasted. Underneath the box where the code is pasted there is the option to test it. It saves a few clicks.
