How Do You Get New Cell Phone Tones?

Well, I've finally gotten a cell phone (well, my folks got a family plan), so despite my initial objections I'm reachable anywhere now. ;)

Anyway, it's pretty nifty & I've heard people with different songs that play on their phones (like some Disney ones) & wondered how I go about doing that?

Just keep playing with your options on the phone. I went looking for ours recently and finally found them. What a list! Of course I had to play each one to find out which one I would choose. My 8 year old thought I was nuts!:)

Depends on the service provider. For example, I have Cingular and I am able to go onto their website and download different tones. There is a charge for it, last year it was less than a dollar. My phone plays the Star Spangled Banner. They were running a promotion last October and it was free to download. To download, you enter your phone number and it is sent directly to the phone. Hope this helps.

If you have a newer Nokia phone, you probably have a Ring Tone Composer. If so, there are lots of websites out there that show you which numbers to press so that you can program it to play different songs. Mine plays the music from the Main Street Electric Parade when it rings. I never try to answer my phone when it's really someone else's. :)

Here's more info.
I have a Sprint/Samsung phone.

It has 10 rings & 10 songs, or "ringers" I guess is the term?

They're ok, but I'd love to have like a Blink 182, Bowling For Soup or Ramones song or even a theme song like Indy, The A-Team or better yet Monty Python or Benny Hill. lol.

There's no option to put in your own tones (via number tones) & I haven't seen a place to get them, yet a friend of mine (I'm pretty sure he has the same brand phone) has the Simpsons tune on his.

I have Sprint also, and it was easy to download "Disney" stuff to my new cell phone. I just went to www.sprintpcs.com if that is they service you have.

It's so fun to have Mickey pop up when I turn my phone on, and hear "Under the Sea" whenever someone calls me!!

Good luck getting a DISNEY phone, too!

Jeff, I know this is a hard concept for guys, but it probably came with a book that has instructions in it!!

;) ;) ;)

One other option I forgot to mention is that you may be able to receive ring tones by a phone call. In other words, someone with a ringtone you like can call you and send it to you. You'd both have to get your manuals out to figure out the specifics.

LOL. Well usually I don't because I don't need to. But I read the book cover to cover & there was nothing about it on there.

I'll try out the links tomorrow & let you guys know how it goes :)

Wow! Look at all of those songs they have on that last site! I wonder how many any one phone would hold?:)
