my 6 year old wanted green hair for St Pat's day and I got a semi (12 washes) dye but I forgot the gloves now I have green hands
I figured it would be fun for him he is due for a hair cut he keeps it almost buzzed with a bit of a bumper spiked up in the front and his spring break is a week after easter so he should be back to normal when they go back
now if I can just get my hands back to normal
I did remember to put cream on his forhead so he didn't stain

Uh oh... take it from a girl who regularly dyes her hair dark brown... I have absolutely no idea... :confused3

maybe nail polish remover?? It usually takes of everything....

I used to dye my hair a LOT back in University. Couple of times, I had some nasty stains. Seemed the same trick did not work every time, so here's a couple ideas.

1. Whitening Toothpaste. Let sit on your hands for 5-10 minutes, and then wash off. Another option is to put toothpaste on an old toothbrush, and gently rub in circles.

2. Nail Polish Remover. Rub with a cotton ball. Be careful, as this can dry your hands out.

3. Lava Soap. It's now made by WD-40, so I'm not sure if you can still get in hardware/grocery/drug stores. However, Lava Soap is incredible for anything from hair dye to oil/grease stains.

I know this is going to sound gross but, cigarette ashes , dampened and rubbed over the skin wear the dye is will take it off, I know sounds gross, but works! HTH`s

I'm a hairstylist....I have no idea about any of the suggested methods, I've never heard of any of them. We use a chemical stain remover that is made for removing hair colour stains from the skin. Hair and skin are two different things and the colour is made for hair so it should wash off after several washes. For something more natural try a paste made from lemon juice and sugar. That is what is used to remove 'self- tanning accidents'.

Just a note....any hair colour that lasts more than one wash has peroxide in it and if your son's hair is light it will most likely need to be cut out. So don't expect it to be gone completely just from washing.

My sister inlaw is a hairdresser and she says the same thing: cigarette ashes , dampened and rubbed over the skin wear the dye is will take it off. Good luck!

Just leave it and tell everyone your dad is the Hulk and sometimes you get mad!

I would try the sugar with lemon, least toxic or another one is vinegar and baking soda........sprinkle the b.soda on your hands and then spray with vinegar which is 5% acetic acid, it will fizz up and neutralize the b. soda which is a weak base.........don't worry it is perfectly ok on your hands......leave on for a few minutes to see if it pulls any of the color out of the skin then rinse away. This works great for cleaning surfaces in the bathroom too in case anyone is interested and does not off gas like toxic commercial cleaners.
