We are staying at the poly and wanted to eat at the animal kingdom lodge.

Whats the best way to get there using WDW transportation?

that all depends...what time of day are you looking to get to akl???
btw...this would be better suited on the transportation forum...

If parks are open when you go, take monorail over to MK and catch the bus to AKL. Reverse process to get back. If parks are closed, you can take a bus to DD and catch bus to AKL. Reverse process to get back. It can be a long process. After all of that I would suggest that you just catch a cab! It is definately the fastest way.

We gave up a long time ago trying to get from resort to resort. Now we just stay at a different resort everytime we go and enjoy their cuisine.

if you are at the Poly walk out to the Tran and Ticket center and catch a buss to the AKL

Thats why we always rent a car at WDW. Mainly to resort hop for dinner and go to DD.;)

TTC only has bus service to WL and FW, no other resorts.

You cannot both be right. In my opinion, one of these two people has been misinformed, or the routes have changed, or he/she is just not quite up to speed yet. Calling Chip 'n Dale Express! Please help.

Maybe soccer mom is right. :)

After 15 stays at the WL, I stand behind my answer, unless things have changed very recently, which I don't think is the case.
Also stayed at Poly once.

In my opinion soccer mom is correct and is "up to speed".

Last September we were able to take a bus to/from MK and AKL, so if MK is open, you can do the Monorail to MK and then a bus to AKL. HOWEVER!!!! This is about a 45 minute process and I would highly recommend a Taxi. The food at Jiko and Boma are both wonderful, but not worth spending 1.5 hours on the bus.

With the exception of Wilderness Lodge & Fort Wilderness, there are NO resort buses from the TTC.
