How do you get from AKL to Poly?

What's the best way to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Poly (w/out using our car)? How much travel time should we allow? Thanks!

Bus from AKL to MK, and then get on a boat or monorail (whichever is the closest to boarding) over to the Poly. I'd allow at least 50 minutes total travel time, counting waits for the bus, etc.

My suggestion would be to take the bus to MK and then walk over to the monorail and take the one for the resorts. That is what we have done in the past. Allow at least 30 minutes.

Or bus to boat to Poly. Honestly, that boat to Poly can be a bit quicker trip to Poly from MK, especially if the boat is right there at the dock and the monorail hasn't arrived yet.

Sometimes the monorail stops running or has long delays. The boats are more predictable.

If you will be using the monorail at other times, then I highly suggest the boat from Poly to MK. It's just interesting and different. And on the way to Poly it will make a quick stop at Grand Floridian, giving you a unique and up-close vantage point of that resort.

And when you get off the boat at Poly, you are in the "backyard" of the resort, along the lagoon, so again you get an interesting view of the resort. Arrival by monorail is very convenient, as you are on the second floor inside the Great Ceremonial House, just steps away from the two table-service restaurants ... but the arrival by boat is more scenic.

We've done this a few times. Taking the bus to MK then either the boat or monorail. Can't say which I like better as both offers unique experiences. But I would allow at least 1 hour for travel time. Especially if you are trying to get to an ADR. We prefer to plan plenty of time and walk around the resort/get a drink etc. if we are early.

If you just missed a MK bus, ask people waiting, take the bus to the AK then bus directly to POLY. I might just take whichever bus comes first but I'd definitely take the bus to AK if I just missed a MK bus.
