How do you get from AKL to FW & AKL to BC?

What is the fastest way (by bus) to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Fort Wilderness? We're going to the Trail's End Buffet for dinner.

Same question different resort. How do you get (also by bus) from AKL to the Beach Club resort. Cape May Cafe for dinner.

About how long do you think it will take to get to each one?

You have a few choices for each:

Ft. Wilderness

Bus to Magic Kingdom, boat to Ft. Wilderness. That will put you just a short stroll to Trails End.

Bus to Animal Kingdom, bus to Ft. Wilderness, then Orange or Yellow bus to Settlement area, then a short stroll to Trails End.

Bus to Downtown Disney, bus to Ft. Wilderness, then Orange or Yellow bus to Settlement area, then a short stroll to Trails End.

Beach Club

Bus to Studios, walk or boat to Beach Club.

Bus to Animal Kingdom, bus to Beach Club.

Bus to Downtown Disney, bus to Beach Club.

Hi sandy,

If you are truly looking for the FASTEST way to get to each, the answer is by taxi. A taxi would take you 10-15 minutes.

Each of the WDW transportation possibilities that Carol mentions above will likely take between 45-60 minutes. I think her first choice in each group is the best way by WDW transportation. But I'd definitely take a taxi!

DH, DS and I will have our car (seats 5). However, 5 other family members are flying in and won't have a car. A cab sounds like a good idea, but with free bus transportation I'm not sure they would be willing to pay for one. How much do you think it would cost, both ways? What about getting back to our resort after dinner? Not knowing when we'd be done eating how would they know when to have the cab pick them up? Sorry for all the questions. We usually don't have such a large group with us.

Taxi would be about $10-$15 each way.

There are usually taxis waiting in front of the resorts; if not, the front desk or valet will call for one and it will be there within five or ten minutes.

To make your life easier I suggest you plan to be at the Magic Kingdom the day you want to go over to Trial's End and either Epcot or the Disney Studios the day you want to go to the Beach Club. That way you can simply exit the MK and take the boat over to WL. From the Epcot International Gateway the Beach Club is a 5 minute walk. From the Disney Studios the walk is around 20 minutes but you can also take the Friendship boat that travels between the Epcot IG and the Studios. The boats stop along the way at the Beach/Yacht clubs, Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin. Kind of slow, but a nice relaxing ride.

Good idea. Unfortunately, we aren't going to any parks on those days. We'll only be in WDW for 3 days and will only be going to one park this time. We live 2 hours away so we take a couple short trips a year.

That may work for BIL, SIL, and DN (when they go to MK) though. Then the rest of us could go in our car. The only problem with that is BIL/SIL/DN will have to take the bus back to our resort by themselves. Hmmm, we'll have to talk about that one.
