How do you get a Disney pin?

We will be visiting WDW in March. How do you get the Pin for discounts?

The only thing that I have had luck doing was ordering the vacation planning dvd. Two different times after I ordered the dvd I received a pin. Both times the pin was for times that we were not able to go so we could not use it.

It also seems that they will sometimes send them out to people who have not been there in a while.

I got most of the ones I saw posted on the discount board the last few years. This year when we were planning a trip, no FD PIN for me when I saw they had come out in May I called to ask, and no PIN but when I asked the CM to check my sister's name she had it and we were able to apply it to our 2 reservations. Sis shops at disneystore.com and went to WDW a few years ago.

My brother in a law got the same FD PIN this summer via snail mail and he does not have any account with Disney but does have an ESPN account; that's the only thing we can figure for how he got the PIN.

there is someone on the discount board who goes every year and gets PINs every year. Its a mystery for sure.

We go every year, always with a pin code for free dining. A few months ago we had just ordered a DVD, but yesterday we received one and had not done anything special.

What was your pin for? Ordered a DVD and hoping to get one - have a trip planned 1/1-1/5 but since I haven't gotten one assuming I'm out of luck.

I've gotten a couple offers in the mail, but the only thing I did was order a trip planning DVD a couple of years ago! We haven't been in quite a few years....
Dh has the Disney debit card and he has gotten one offer.

I found that ordering the dvd and playing around on the web site will get them to mail you offers. Also, even if you get an offer that is not for the dates you would like to go, call and speak to a cast member and tell them - I got a PIN but it is for a different date than I need. We did and ended up with a better offer than the PIN that we got. It never hurts to try!

kind randomized, but its really a marketing equation of sorts i think. my trip i have booked next month was for a pin under my mothers name. we went twice and both trips were in my name, she got the pin emails/mailers. however i was told since i am linked to her as a household i could redeem without her. sign up for free dvds, an account, etc and hope for some pixie dust, thats all you can do.
