How do you find out if your Club 33 tickets are comped or not?

As i mentioned on another thread, I have a friend who has made a reservation for us at Club 33. In the past, the tickets have been comped. However, I have seen on these boards that now there is a new system & sometimes even if a Club 33 member arranges for the tickets, the guest still has to pay for the meal. I don't want to directly ask my friend, as he is doing us a (huge) favor, but i would like to find out if I am going to have to pay. Is there a way for me to find out? Is there a number I could call? Your help is appreciated!!!

They are no longer allowing members an unlimited supply of tickets. So reservations no longer automatically come with tickets. If you are getting tickets they are "comped" meaning they have no value for upgrading. No matter what you are paying for your meal so that part of the post confused me.

If the member is giving you the daily admission ticket only they would know that.

I've never been to Club 33 and don't know anyone with a membership.
I have no idea of who to contact for info.
And I did NOT stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Here are two options for you.....

1. Talk with the person providing the opportunity. Explain to them about the discussion you have read about here on this board.

Let them know you want to be prepared for the day. Ask them what you can expect due to the possible changes.

2. If you don't want to approach them. Then go with enough money to cover tickets and the meal.

It's a golden opportunity. Enjoy the day and your time dining in Club 33.

I'd go with option #2.

I totally agree that i am lucky no matter if i have to pay or not. But i am still confused. The last time i went both the tickets & the lunch were comped but i dont know if this is changed under the new system. isnt there any way to call them?

ps i am planning on bringing a disney rewards card (just loaded with $10 for now & then loading it with the meal price if i do have to pay)

thanks for your help!

There is no way of calling other than the member..if you do not want to do that then bring lots of $$$ to pay for both. Only the member knows what they have done for you...I am not a member.

If someone paid for your lunch last time, you had better thank the owner.

The system used to be that the tickets came "free", and all you paid ("all", LOL) was the cost of the meals.

Now the tickets don't always come (you have to work that out with the owner), and you pay the cost of the meals.

My friend that offered up a reservation to me, even before the new system, knew that I already had an AP, and asked if we would need tickets. We did not, so even though they would have been free, we did not need them.

Again, thank that owner for paying for your meal!!!!!! And ask this owner (don't know if it's the same or different) if s/he is arranging for tickets for you.

Did they mention to check in at a certain ticket booth outside the parks? When we got the complemtary ticket with our reservation we had to check in at a certain ticket booth number that may imply that you will be receiving a park ticket.

yes the owner emailed a paper from club 33 directing me to a window so i know i am getting the tickets. i just wanted to be prepared with the money on my disney visa rewards card if i need to pay for the lunch but didnt want to load that much on the card if i didnt need it. I guess i will have to call my friend & find out, thanks!

ps i definitely am very grateful to my friend!!!

You have always had to pay for your meal-the only thing that can be comped is your admission to to the park. If you somehow got a free meal at club 33 then your host must have paid for it out of their own pocket. This has always been this way.

how much is the lunch meal?
It was $80 last month, however, with all the rule changes, we really don't know. Figure at least $80 for food, $3 for a soda, $6.50 for tax, and at least $15 for a tip.

If you haven't had to pay for your meal in the past, thank your host!! It was nice of them to pay that for you!

I don't understand why you don't just ask your friend? That would solve all of this confusion you are having.

Take the amount of a one day one park ticket for each person in your party, and that's how much the meal is. Beverages are extra (DH's coffee was not included, nor was my mai tai, nor was DS's juice). Then tax. Then tip.

Like I said, if you had your last meal given to you by the owner and didn't realize that's how it worked (that you did need to pay for the meal), give extra thanks to them.

Yes, i definitely have thanked my friend many times, he is a great guy (even if he didnt have access to club 33). Thanks for all the info, i am now prepared to pay with my rewards card. I didnt want to bother my friend because he was so nice to arrange this for me but i wanted to be prepared & thanks to this board, i am!

When we went to Club 33 last month and went to the guest relations ticket booth to get our tickets, the cast member there asked us if we were getting comped tickets and we told her yes, so just because you pick your park tickets up at the ticket booth won't necessarily mean the park tickets are comped (or why would they ask) - you might want to go prepared to pay for those also.

good point! also does anyone know if the tickets are good for both parks? thanks again!

Yes, the tickets are one-day parkhoppers (at least our comped ones were).
