How do you feel about this as a simple set up?

My experience: Stick with B&H, Beach, Buydig, or Roberts and you won't go wrong. There are a few other really good online retailers, but these four are the ones I've used and can vouch for, personally.

+1 B&H and Adorama and beach have all done right by me :thumbsup2

I remember reading about one online place that when it said body only it meant body only no battery no cords no books etc IF you wanted those they were offered at a premium.

You've already gotten a ton of great advice... but my thought it always "If the deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is."

Most popular/up-to-date camera equipment retains it's value pretty well, so you should check out the 'deal' you are getting very carefully. While I've never been scammed (knock on wood), there seems to be this scam going where the dealer strips down what is in the box and then, after you place your order, they call you, and 'sell' you all the upgrades... like the battery. And then the charger. Well, you need a manual too. Oh and don't forget the neck strap. How about this lens. You definitely need the 'insurance'.
From my understanding they are very high pressure and if you decline anything, they cancel your order and you never get anything.

B&H is my favorite place to buy equipment.

Check out resellerratings.com as there is a lot of good info there.

I've bought online from B&H, Adorama, JR.com, and Cameta. I've bought from Ritz Camera in person and it costs a little more than online (but not much when you factor in S/H). Ritz is good because they have a no questions asked 30 day return policy. Great for trying out a lens if you aren't sure what you want/need. They allow you to try the lens on your camera in store and that's good too. All the above were fine. The only company that called me was JR and they only called (both times I bought from them) to confirm my address and to possibly double check the security code on the back of the CC, IIRC. There was never a high pressure sales tactic. I was actually worried when they first called but they basically wanted to make sure that the purchase was legit and that was it. I was actually glad they called after I spoke w/ them. Maybe if more on line retailers did that, we would have less CC fraud occuring.
If you are looking for a really decent deal and don't mind buying used/refurbished, I heard good things about Cameta Cameras. They sell on Ebay and brand new through Amazon. I've only bought small accessories from them and never had an issue with those.
Good luck!
