HOw do you feel about false rape accusations

Huh. And here I thought that partying and drinking were completely legal once you reached the age of 21. And if he is innocent, saying that he deserves to be targeted because of who he is and what he was doing is akin to saying that the woman wearing the short skirt and dancing suggestively deserves to be raped.

well said! :thumbsup2

What you said has nothing to do with the poster who said DNA should be present. There is no need for you to weigh your sympathies for one group over the other. Both are victims and the people that caused them hard deserve to be punished harshly.

Actually, my comments were still in direct response to the DNA posting -- which is why the post started with the word, "Again". That generally connotes the continuation of a point. And, honestly, you don't get to dictate whether or not there is a "need" for where my sympathies lie. Control your own argument, mine stands. The fact remains, rape is incredibly under-reported, there is an enormous pool of victims out there, and as badly as I feel for innocent victims of accusations, some of the suggestions on the thread about DNA or other physical evidence being required for prosecution turn my stomach. While I agree punishments for false accusations should be harsh, that is a completely separate argument from making the evidentiary requirements beyond the pale.

Where did the poster say he "deserves" to be targeted. The poster said he WILL be targeted, which is unfortunately true.

I'm kind of thinking everyone is beyond "DNA should be required" obviously not a really fair, legal or sensible solution

DNA will not help in all cases, in one of the cases I post a link to the woman picked a man she thought looked hot had volentary sex with him and then told her friend as she had his dna she was going to accuse him of rape I am posing again and putting the quote in again

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...whose-earlier-claim-drove-man-to-suicide.html

The woman claimed Mr Fadayomi attacked her in a house he shared with other students in Walkley, Sheffield, after she met him while “tipsy” in a city centre nightspot last October.

But one of her friends , who was also in the night club the evening the pair met, told the court the woman danced and kissed Mr Fadayomi boasting: “I'm going to have his body tonight.”

The woman later told her friend she was planning to accuse Mr Fadayomi of rape and bragged: "He is not going to get away with it, I've got evidence this time."

she had sex with someone with the intention of accusing him of rape!!!!!!!!!!

I feel they should be prosecuted and that laws should be updated to make this a criminal act and not a slap on the hands act.

It is worse than identity theft that can ruin your life depending on how bad it is--and that is a felony (if I Am not mistaken).

We can still be compassionate towards real victims, but we must not let our concern that they won't tell about the crimes done to them cloud the judgement of how wrong it is to do what amounts to nothing to those who purpose to ruin the lives of others with a lie.
