How do you ever get through that last 7-10 days?

Here's how we got through our last week - We cleaned out our DVR by watching the entire season of Once Upon A Time that we have saved but not yet watched. GEEZ...that's one crazy show! Now I"m excited to see Gold's shop in Hollywood Studios!

I actually love those last few days before we leave- I feel like I am finally "allowed" to be excited and I cherish every moment of it. Lots of Disney music blaring through the house, and I can actually talk about our plans non-stop without everyone rolling their eyes at me :)

I am usually wishing time would slow down, because that's about when it always seems to start moving too fast, meaning it will soon be over. I think I even mourn the end of the anticipation when it's time to actually go, lol!

I am very blessed that DH is a Disney nut, so our days leading up to vacation are full of our favorite Disney movies, trying copycat recipes, and preparing for our trip (packing, shopping, etc). This trip, I did a "throwback" photo on social media every day the week leading up to our departure, and we all had a blast with that. The time passed just as it always does, but I feel like we make those days part of the vacation experience.

We do two days at Universal in addition to 6-7 nights at Disney, so the last few weeks before our trip consists of watching all the Harry Potter movies, packing, checking out the Dis board every night, and talking non stop about our road trip & vacation. Since I got a new job this year though, that's keeping me too busy. 62 days! Seems too far away!

haha, you still beat me, I have 63 days left!!!

And yeah, I agree with some pp's, I absolutely love those days! I love the crazy excitement and anticipation building up to the trip! I tend to be crazy buzzed about it for even longer than that last week. Heck, I even have a countdown chain hanging up right now with my boyfriend, and we are 2 adults, no kids, lol. To me, all those days of planning, and excitement, and anticipation are like an extension of the trip itself. This trip in particular is extra crazy for me, anticipation-wise, since it's my bf's first ever Disney trip! :bitelip::hyper::eek:

It is always the opposite for me. That last week flies by. I always have a lot to do before we leave for any vacation and no time to get it all done in.
Me too! I like to have house super-clean and organized before we leave as it's depressing to come home with disney withdrawl AND a messy house. I keep busy with piles to pack & "don't forget lists" and organizing. It's the months before that drag for me...

lol. Sheesh, I feel like such a Disney slacker. We leave in 4 days and there hasn't been anything Disney on tv, the radio nothing. The kids have been watching Sponge Bob like it's going to be taken off the air. To be fair though, I've been so busy with the car repair issues and running last minute errands, doctors appointments etc... that I haven't really had any time to get excited or "into" it. I'm just basically getting through a day at a time. I am packing! I don't think it's going to feel "real" for me until we're in the car, on our way.

Okay, seriously, time has FLOWN since we started planning our trip 6-7 months ago, and now suddenly we leave 10 days from today and time seems to be draaaaaaaging. I want to leave NOW! I'm starting to pack a few things, trying to make sure all loose ends are tied up (we're going to be gone a total of 17 days so quite a few details at home to attend to, including the care of our cat, our garden, lawn care etc). But... quite frankly, I feel like a little impatient kid waiting for Christmas, and I wanna lay on the floor and throw a tantrum crying, "How much longer???? I wanna go NOW!"

It seems like I am still planning our summer trip because just this week my niece asked me to track down a CRT reservation. When I get to the 7-10 day mark, I will be thinking "Ah, a few days home and then off to Disney I go!" I have been taking care of my grandma since February and counting down the days until I am there for 2 weeks away from the chaos here.
