I've been curious about the way that people eat on a daily basis. It seems like most people eat a smaller breakfast, lunch and a big dinner (But I could be totally wrong).

I've been changing my eating habits, starting with a bigger breakfast and lunch, then not eating much if at all for dinner. I think it really helps. I'm wondering what everyone else does daily.

Small breakfast.
No lunch.
A bigger dinner.

I don't like school lunches and usually I'm not hungry at lunch time.
Although on occasions I will eat lunch on the weekends.

For me it's usually small breakfast, medium lunch, small or medium dinner.

Today I had breakfast late, a large really late lunch, and won't want dinner.

I eat a smallish breakfast, snack mid-morning, a larger lunch, snack mid-afternoon and a small dinner.

I voted other. One of the reasons I'm slim is because I eat all day long. I eat b-fast, lunch and dinner and at least two or three snacks. Sounds like a lot, but I don't gorge myself at any of those meals. I eat about half of what other people do at meals.

Because of the way I eat, I'm rarely hungry and my metabolism stays high. I didn't plan to eat this way - I just get really light-headed and cranky if I don't eat every couple hours. ;)

But if you've found a way to eat that works for you and you don't overeat, go for it!

I eat 6-7 meals a day, and all are about equal proportion.

I really have to force myself to eat breakfast because I never have an appetite in the morning. I have a normal lunch. At dinner I'm usually hungry and think I'll eat a lot, but I always fill up quickly.

I usually eat a small breakfast, small-medium lunch, and a small-medium dinner (larger if I'm really hungry). Like SwedishMeatball, I fill up quickly. For years I've found that I usually can only eat about half of a lunch-sized entree at a restaurant. :confused3 (I do eat more if I'm PMSing, though :rolleyes1)

I've always eaten this way, as well, and actually had to add another snack when I developed low blood sugar. DH calls me a hobbit because I have first breakfast, second breakfast, and elevenses. :rotfl2: Small snacks and small meals.

Breakfast: slim-fast and banana
Snack: wheat thins
Lunch: slim-fast and apple
Snack: animal crackers
Dinner: medium dinner (meat, pasta, whatever the family's having....) -- I never have seconds
No dessert
Nothing to eat after dinner

I started this routine in September and have gone from a size 10 to a size 4.

I'm small/no breakfast, medium lunch, larger dinner. I'm not usually hungry early in the mornings, but that's just the way our lifestyle is.

I actually prefer to eat a large breakfast, no lunch, smaller dinner. I eat a lot less that way.

I said other. I eat several small meals throughout the day. On average I probably eat about every 4 hours. I think it helps keep my metabolism running high and keeps me from overeating.

I've experimented and the idea of smaller meals with some snacks between works really well. By dinner time you can make do with a smaller meal because you aren't ravenous from not having eaten much all day.

I voted "other".

Weekdays I eat:

breakfast: English Muffin or cereal
lunch: NEVER eat...I'm a teacher with NO time :teacher:
dinner: regular sized dinner

I don't think it matters when you eat, but out of habit I'm a big breakfast/small dinner eater. It is easier for me to control the menu and portions at breakfast...I can splurge but not too much. I pretty much know dinner will be salad w/ vinegar or plain vegetables...and I haven't eaten after dinner in over 30 years. I watch it every day of my life...but I weigh 133-135 and I'm 5'11" and to me the sacrifice is worth it. I have decided though, that once I'm 60...I'm eating what I want, tossing the contacts and wearing glasses, pulling my hair back w/ a band, and wearing what I want...at that point I'd better be past the point of vanity...only 14 years to go !

Usually a light breakfast, toast, fruit, yougurt, sometimes a bigger lunch (don't always do lunch though) sandwich or salad of some type. If I'm hungry I'll eat a well balanced dinner I made for the family otherwise I just pick at fruits and veggies with it. We eat at a rediculiously early time 4-4:30pm due to my husbands work schedule. It actually works out okay though since if I do eat, food has had time to settle before I head to the gym about 6-6:30.

I know it's bad but...

No breakfast, except occaisonally on the weekends. I'm just NOT hungry at this time.

Small/Medium lunch.

Medium/Large-ish dinner.

I have no set routine because my schedule is different every day. A lot depends on what time I'm playing with different bands and whether I have to get up early to play or can sleep in. A lot of events in my area start around what my "normal" dinner time would be, or at least I have to be there. On my days off, I like dinner around 6:30.
