How do you eat at Epcot?

I've heard several people say that they graze at Epcot. I'd love to hear what a typical Epcot day has in store for your belly if you're one of these grazers. I can't decide if we need to make an ADR for lunch or if we should just grab things as we see them and forgo a table service.

Well, we are on the dining plan for our upcoming trip and we love Epcot restaurants. We will be spending about two days in Epcot and have a breakfast reservation at Akerhus in Norway and two dinner reservations at France and China. Other than that, my husband wants to have lunch at the Sunshine Seasons Food Court and I absolutely have to visit the Norway and France bakeries for something sweet as well! We also love the Counter Service meals at Mexico for lunch!

In Epcot with our last trip I had a lot, mostly in WS. But I tend to have no limits with food while I'm on vacation... I love food. :)
Lunch at Electric Umbrella
ice cream
I shared a pretzel in Germany
funnel cake in America
shared tacos in Mexico
chocolate candy in England
a late dinner in Nine Dragons in China
and chocolate mousse cake in Norway

i can never remember where i eat lunch when its park day, but we always take the boat over to world showcase and get a canoli. and one time, my sister and i went to epcot by ourselves and we ate at america. its very good if you are just looking for a basic meal. The enviroment is very lovely too. The glass roof on a semi sunny breezy day is the cherry on a perfect day in world showcase.

It depends, but when grazing I've found that others graze along with me so I seldomly get to eat or drink something alone. Sharing treats makes it easier to try many rather fewer selections and still have room for something else.. No matter how much I graze I still feel the need for a sit down lunch at my favorite CS, Tangerine Cafe!

A few of my favorites, Italian Margarita, German Pretzel, French Creme Brulee & Cafe au Lait, Pain au chocolat, Norway, school bread (their sandwiches are good too) Mexico, churros, fried ice cream(by the funnel cakes).

Sit down dinners from time to time, Le Cellier, Tepan Edo, Marrakesh and Le Bistro de Paris.

I always plan on grazing but I always purchase the DDP so Im always too full to graze! LOL

I do like to get lunch at a CS and a snack later in Norway or France.. Then dinner around 7 or so at a TS in WS..

I think when ever we get to bring DSS I dont think the countries will be his thing so I planned on letting him get something small ($5 limit) in each country and encourage him to look around, that way it will make it fun for him.. Now I normally dont "pay" kids off but I adore WS and cant imagine a WDW trip w/o it! LOL

We always use the DP and always arrange for our sitdown meal to be our dinner at an Epcot Restaurant. We LOVE eating at Canada and Mexico.

I only graze during Food & Wine festival. Otherwise we forgo snacking and just have regular meals.

I think it really depends if your are on the DDP or not and also if you are going during Food & Wine.

With no DDP and during F&W we graze during the day and then have a TS dinner at night. If there is no F&W then we go to a specific CS for lunch and then a TS dinner - of course dessert can be in any (and usually in several) countries.

If we have the DDP and go during F&W then we usually go to a TS for an early lunch and another for late dinner - Epcot really does have the best restaurants in WDW- and graze in between ;)
If there is no F&W then just a TS lunch and TS dinner with a couple of snacks in between.

During the F & W Fest and no dining plan--we start grazing as soon as the World Showcase opens. :yay: We don't do a sit down meal while doing that.

Last visit we had park hoppers so after a day at AK, we hopped over to Biergarten (family fav) for dinner ADRs. Worked out perfectly. But that was probably the first time we had an actual sit down meal at Epcot in a long time.

Last year was the first time we went with QSDP vs. regular DDP so we had no TS meals.

At Epcot we may eat lunch at SS or from several different countries. Last year I had lunch at Kringla (Very good and a ton of food!) while DD11 got hers at Mexico. Again, good and a lot of food. The 3 of us (DM71, DD11, and meDM51) shared the 2 meals and had plenty. We ate in the new outside pavilion in Mexico. We even got to watch a turtle in the water beneath us while we ate. :goodvibes

Then we may pick up a snack or two along the way during the day. When we had reg. DDP we would typically have an ADR for TS at night. But we are also big PH so if we started the day at Epcot that usually means we end it somewhere else. This trip we also had some tastes at the F&WF. We shared those as well. If they were really good, we got more.

Most of my eating in Epcot, especially in World Showcase, is done from a plastic cup.

we pick 1 day to eat our way through the countries. We use snack credits for everything. It's one of our favorite meals : )

We "drink and eat around the world" quite often. You've gotta pace yourself, but it can be a great time. My favorite is quite simple...a basket of chips in UK with a Bass:thumbsup2

Since we usually do at least two days in Epcot we graze all around the world one day and have a TS dinner in a country on the other day. This gives us the best of both worlds.

We generally order a combo platter from each CS and all 4 of us get one bite from each of the items and then get seconds if there is anything left. But, in France we each get our own pastry. It is a must. :)

We love to eat in WS while in Epcot. I would never waste a meal on either the Electric Umbrella or the US pavilion on food I can get anywhere.
We usually eat an International CS at either the La Cantina in Mexico, Sommerfest in Germany, Yakatori House in Japan, Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco, the French Bakery in France, or Harry Ramsdens Fish & Chips in the UK.
We stay at the BCV and have hoppers so we usually end 3 or 4 evenings in WS restaurants. We have a TS dinner in one of the countries. We love the Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, San Angel Inn, Restaurant Marrakesh, Teppan Edo. This upcoming trip we are trying Tokoyo Dining, La Hacienda and Via Napoli for the first time.
During F & W fest we usually reserve one day for "Noshing Around the World" at the food booths. It is great fun and good food.

We loooove grazing at Epcot. We'll usually get school bread, something from the bakery in France, fish and chips, some sort of cold adult beverage (a blood orange margarita, Grand Marnier slush, or the yummy peach slush thing in China are some of my favorites) and random other yummy things throughout the day. Lunch is typically at Tangerine Cafe or Sunshine Seasons.

I never realized how much I eat at Epcot! Geez! :rotfl:

If you are looking for snacks, these are our favorites:

Kaki Gori in Japan
funnel cake in America
ham and cheese croissant in France
candy in England

others like the schoolbread in Norway (I don't like coconut) and the pretzels in Germany, but I like the pretzels around here better.

then there are the margaritas in Mexico and the grey goose slushies in France....
