How do you dry your shoes out??

We'll be hitting the water rides!! I really don't want to have to pack two pairs of tennis shoes if it isn't necessary. I think I will take a backpack to AK because I know Kali will soak our shoes and you have to wear some kind of shoes but I'm afraid they will be soaked some other time. Will the tennis shoes dry overnight on our balcony this week if we were to set them out? Can you put the new suede tennis shoes in a dryer if you maybe put them inside a pillow case or something? HELP!!

Just use a hair dryer.

They won't dry in the humid central Florida weather unless the sun is baking them directly.

Buy a newspaper and crumple up sheets and stuff them in the shoes. Keep them in your airconditioned room (lower humidity) it the sun is not hitting your balcony or patio.

Keep your feel on the bar infront of you. I would also consider packing a small pair of sandals (flip-flops) to switch into. It is the wet clothing that makes me I hate wet shorts and shirt, but hopefully you are going in the summer.

We always pull a chair up next to the AC unit & balance the sneakers (upside down) on the arm so the air blows directly into the sneakers. (does that make sense?) Works really well for those summer "showers" when you need a to get back to your room!

Oops, just remembered not every resort has a floor unit! Guess we'll be squishing in August!!

Consider wearing sport sandals instead of sneakers, that solves the problem entirely. Otherwise, carrying a pr. of flipflops to change into is good. They won't let you go barefoot on the rides.

If you do get wet shoes, the newspaper trick works, as does the chair-arm thing. Be wary of leaving them out on a balcony in summer while you go to the parks; that 3 pm shower will get them even wetter.

Even with all the tricks mine don't dry overnight. If you don't want to pack an extra pair of tennis shoes at least pack a pair of sandals (or even flip flops).

I would never travel without a spare pair of sneakers. Even just walking around all day, your shoes will be "very tired". You need to alternate pairs by day. I even do this at home for work.

Even though my husband laughed at me for packing an extra pair of shoes for each of us, he now tells everybody to do it.

His shoes got soaked in a rain storm. He was glad when we got back to the hotel and had a fresh dry pair to wear--especially the next morning.

When you are walking around ALL day, it does feel good on your feet to alternate shoes everyday. I guess it's just a little difference in the pressure points on your foot, but it does help.

My husband has diabetes and he needs to be sure his shoes are in tip top shape. EVERYONE should have at least one extra pair of shoes or sneakers to wear. According to foot doctors and articles I have read you should alternate every other day to help keep bacteria down. If there is a rainstorm as there was so many times last August then extra shoes are an absolute must!! I agree if need be one pair of sports sandals and one pair of sneakers but always bring two.

You could also take a pair of "surf shoes" into the parks if you are carrying backpacks. These are waterproof shoes that you can slip on when you are about to go on a wet ride. I wouldn't recommend wearing them all day but they are great if you don't want to get your regular shoes wet.

Nothing worse than putting on damp tennies after getting all ready for the parks. Normally I don't pack extra tennies on a trip, but I do for Disney. Sometimes one pair isn't so great, ah but they are dry!
