Left sock - right sock. Left shoe - right shoe.

Kind of like One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. But for feet.

Me too, except now that it is getting warmer it will usually be flip-flop unless I am going to work

I was really young, about 4 or 5, but I remember my parents watching it. I guess I watched it just a little because growing up I did know and was familair with the characters. Jowever, because I was 4 or 5 and the show went off the air soon after that, I can't say I watched it a lot.

However, a number of years ago, I caught an ep on Nick at Nite. I am almost 34, so I was around, oh, 28-30, I'd say when I caught this ep and it made me cry. I was lying in bed, just silently weeping.

The episode was the one where Edith wanted to buy Archie some gift for his birthday. I think a new TV or something that cost a bit of money and so she went to the bank to get a personal loan for the money. However the bank would not loan her the money because she was a woman. Soory I cannot remember who played Edith, but her acting in that episode was obviously very powerful if it had me crying. And that show occured around the time I was born (up until I was 5 or 6), but it made me realize just how much times have changed on 30+ years and what women can and cannot do and how they are thought of (of course there are some who still believe this way....) I mean just around the time I was born (1976) women were still held back and then by the time I was 10, i was watching commercials on TV for Barbie dolls where the jingle was "We girls can do anything..."

It still makes me cry to see that episode. That was some fine acting.

Sorry to take this off topic...the Archie Bunker comments made me think.

To get back on topic, I put on socks first and then shoes. I never untie my shoes, I just slide them on. Most of my shoes are slide on shoes, however I still leave my running shoes tied and just pull them on. Meanwhile my husband sits down like Mr. Rodgers and takes off his shoes and socks one by one and lines them up neatly under the bench and then goes to the closet and puts on a cardigan.............."It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood......."

All in the Family is an old favorite of mine. Since the subject is shoes, how about the episode when Archie and Meathead get stuck in the basement and get drunk. Archie tells Meathead about how poor he was that he had to wear one shoe and one boot and kids called him "Shobooty".

Anyway I too voted socks on first. IF I must!!! Otherwise no socks and flip flops or Uggs.

Although most of All in the Family was comedic, there were a few serious episodes or scenes. I was in middle school when it was on, and even then I knew how controversial/groundbreaking it was. Archie was a racist of every race other than his (what was he anyway?) but he was fair-it was all races he included! Edith Bunker was played by Jean Stapleton, I think she is still alive. Carroll O'Conner died a few years ago. Mike was played by Rob Reiner, and Gloria was Sally Struthers. The last thing I saw her doing was a "Save the Children" commercial. We all know how successful Rob Reiner has become.

If I could find a marathon on TV, I would be glued to it til the end. The shows were hilarious, but it also brings back fond memories of my childhood.

Shobooty made me cry. In fact, any episode where Archie was shown as vulnerable made me cry.

Good night, shobooty.:goodvibes

Wow - I'm a really a minority!

I always wear shoes because of bad ankles, so when I sit down on the bed to put on my shoes and socks I'm slipping off my crocs and have both shoes and socks sitting right beside me to put on before my feet hit the floor again.

Since I have one foot lifted to put the sock on it, it just seems to make sense to put the shoe on it too before moving to the next foot. It is more "efficient." I guess I'm the ultimate in lazy!

Before I wore shoes all the time, I would put socks on and wander around in my stocking feet for awhile before putting my shoes on so I would have voted differently.

NO SOCKS WITH CROCS!

monday, wednesday, friday- left then right

tuesday, thursday, Saturday- right then left

sunday..bunny slippers;)
