How do you dress for the holidays?

I'll be starting the day in my uniform - have to work Christmas morning, but that's OK! Then I'll be changing into shorts and t-shirt (our expected top temperature for Christmas Day is 90deg!) for dinner with friends at my place.
When I was growing up we would be "smart casual" for Christmas Day - but it's hard to dress up when it's so hot! I have yet to experience a winter Christmas, but will one day!

Merry Christmas to everyone - no matter what you wear!!! ;) :thumbsup2

Christmas Eve - nap pants and a t-shirt - do you think the Chinese take out guy will mind?

Christmas day - festive red jammies - no one will even notice throuh the wall of torn wrapping paper

You do the traditional Christmas Eve Chinese takeout too? I thought that was only my family!! We started this about 10 years ago. Before that, it was the traditional Christmas Eve nachos (until Mom decided that was too much work.)

We usually go to early church services on Christmas Eve, so we will wear church clothes. Something nicer than everyday wear. On Christmas Day, we will stay in our jammies all day, until it is time to go to my folks' house for Christmas dinner. Then we will usually put on something new that was unwrapped, or if no clothes were received we will just wear regular "everyday casual" clothes. Nothing too fancy, since it will most likely be slopped on.

We just wear casual/comfy clothes both days.
Usually jeans, and a nice sweater or top.

I dress up for church. Not formal, but definitely nice clothes. For the meal since I cook a lot of it, I don't get all that dressed up. I usually have a grubby shirt on that I change out of right before dinner is served.

We're a casual family though, so jeans and t's are fine :)

A friend of mine said that's not how it's done. How do you dress?

Oh pooh on your friend. ;)

How it is "done" is however you and your family choose to do it!

At our house I will be thrilled if I can get pants on DS4 and DS6. These children refuse to keep on pants lately and just run around the house in their tshirts and underpants.

Ok, relatively speaking I guess you can say the boys will be going "formal" if I actually get some britches on their butts!! :rotfl:

Something with an elasticated waistband.

Seriously: the same as I dress the other 364 days of the year.

Christmas Eve we always dress up because of church - and then my in-laws have a huge open house/party.

Christmas Day is comfy clothes
Jenny :)

When I was little we dressed to the nines both days. Now that we've gotten older it seems we dress the kids to the nines and we're more dressy/casual. We go to Church Christmas Eve and get dressed up then bring a change of clothes for our Family Christmas Eve gathering. I love the whole staying in my pj's on Christmas Day wow that would be great, but alas DH's family comes here for Christmas Day and we have to get presentable again.
