How do you do Ramen?

This is the way my daughter loved to make them.
She took the package of noodles, layed it on the counter, crushed them while they were still in the package. Then opened the package & poured them into a large bowl. Opened the seasoning packet poured it over the dry noodles in the bowl, then added just a small amount of water. I think just to almost cover them. Then put them in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes. No draining needed & the flavor cooked right in to it!

I drain them too...then add the seasoning and either butter or cheese. DH likes the drained noodles scrambled w/ eggs or w/ a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed in...the last one has always looked too gross for me to try.

Someone better call their cardiologist after a bowl of these! :rotfl:

Boil about 1 1/4 cups of water, break up noodles and cook for 2 minutes (sometimes with a handful of frozen peas or broccoli florets), add 1/2 the seasoning packet and some Mrs. Dash t(o give it flavor without all that salt), add an ice cube to cool it down a tad, and eat!

Normally I just crush them in the package and then mix it with water and put it in the microwave for 4:15 and then put the seasoning and salt on it.

Though now that you mention it, the egg does sound good in it. What do you do, just crack it and mix it in and then let it cook in the heat of the water and noodles?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks eggs are totally disgusting. The smell of them makes me physically sick and I have to leave the room when DH makes poached eggs sandwiches with mayonnaise and stuff. Eeew.

flaps--I had the same thought when I saw it. I was like..OMG that is SO wrong, but incredibly funny at the same time.

When we got married, my husband said no Velveeta and I countered with no Ramen. We've been married 18 years tomorrow and I think we've abided by those rules. They are the only rules either of us set forth in our marriage, lol!

That's one way. Or you can put the egg in a bowl, whisk it seperately, and then add it to the boiling water and noodles. It seems to cook quicker for me that way.

Cook, drain water, add half of seasoning packet and a tablespoon of real mayo. this was dh and my favorite when we were first married 16 years ago. Yup, another heart attack special!

I feel your pain...I ate them in college with cheese added. I often have a longing for red zingers and honey buns but once you've read the lable.... :scared1: :earseek: :faint: Good thing the large order of onions rings I ate from sonic didn't come with a nutrition lable. :rotfl:

Darn those nutrition labels!!!!!

Here's the scary thing. I didn't even think you could make them different. We follow the directions! DD10 really thinks she's hot snot, as this is something I will let her make all on her own.

Here's my question. My BIL (college age) made fun of me the other day for calling them RA-men noodles. As in, Raymon. He called them ROM-en. Which is it?

Raw!! :rotfl2:

On our first day of college, my roommate and I were hungry so we wanted to make some Ramen seeing as that was all that we had. We were ready to make it and then realized we didn't have bowls or anything to eat it out of. We took the "college survival bucket" from her mom and some cups and made Ramen in a bucket!!!! :lmao: here's the picture for your viewing pleasure. :)
