Okay, I found this site about a week ago. And on the same day my hubby said to stop the presses "We're going to Disney" He's got the itch to go so bad he doesn't know what to do with himself. He was literally dancing :cool1: in our living room singing...."I'm going to Disney, I'm going to Disney" and basically hasn't stopped since. :rotfl2:

The funny thing is, is he's already been 5 times already and wants to go again (which I understand wholeheartedly) But we're in the middle of planning our first CRUISE for this August. I haven't heard this excitement for the upcoming CRUISE as I have for the trip to WDW we're going on in a year and a half. He says he's excited to go on the cruise and can't wait to go on it, but he just can't control himself with knowing the fact that we're heading back down to Disney next year. He's so funny.

Anyhow, back on topic. Since I've been glued to this computer for the past week, literally NON STOP :surfweb: How do you people clean your house, do your laundry, feed your family and go to work (luckily I'm on spring break right now so I have the time) But seriously, what does your house look like? Did you have to hire a maid and chef to atleast live in a clean house and throw some grub down your family's throat? I have NOT done a single thing in this house this past week. I understand that being on the computer is addicting but this is UNREAL. I can't believe that a WHOLE day can go by without moving from your seat.

so how do you control yourself with how long you're on here looking at everything DISNEY!!!

Pam

Congrats on your upcoming trip!

For me, I don't stop. I don't even have a trip planned (although I am working on it... :smooth: ) and I'm still on here every day.

Definately addictive, for sure. :smokin:

Sorry I don't have any advice.

for me at least - i was the same way when i started on the site, but i am able to keep it at a low obcession now. i hit the boards up once a day while i am at work - ususally over lunch or right after i check my e-mail, before i jump into the rest of my day. if i have a trip coming up, i tend to spend more time here, gathering info and making plans.

if you organize all the info that you gather here - it proves to be and invaluable resource. i have used the info here to my advantage over and over again on WDW trips.

I have admitted my addiction and succumbed to it. :rolleyes1
The devil's in the DIS!

This is what you do:

You throw in a load of laundry.

Come back and DIS for a few minutes.

Go vacuum the living room.

Come back and DIS for a few minutes.

Unload the dishwasher.

Come back and DIS for a few minutes.

Go to the bathroom.

Come back and DIS for a few minutes.

And so it goes... you can literally DIS all day AND do housework!

Patti, now that sounds like a plan. I think I'll have to put it into action. Maybe that way, we can walk around with some clean clothes and MAYBE some nuggetts or grilled cheese for dinner.

Get up in the morning, make coffee; while it perking, turn on the computer, check Mousesavers.com for any discounts, click on the DIS board, grab coffee, go back to computer. An hour later, race to car while brushing teeth, and combing hair, late for work. Rush off elevator, throw car keys on desk, turn on computer, log in to DIS to see if there were any changes or new information. And so it goes.... :lmao:

Hi I am Kim and Yes I am a dis-holic! My best advice is to move your computer closer to the kitchen. Mine is just 4 steps away and 10 steps away from the laundry room. :thumbsup2

So glad I'm not the only one!! :rotfl2: Especially with our trip so close, I can't keep away. I have almost the same plan as grinning ghost, and we do have a laptop with a wireless connection! It helps a lot!! ;)

I know its an imperfect solution, but invest in a cheap dial up plan.. That way you have timeto do housework while the pages load and refresh :rotfl2:

I do the same as Patti...!! :lmao:

DIS becomes very addictive :disrocks:

getting sucked into the DIS boards. I usually check them out around 4:45 am before heading to work. On my lunch abd then when I get home. Often spending far more time on them then I should, but it feeds mu DISNEY addiction and keeps me going until I can get there again.

I mulit task allot, getting the dinner going(I do most of the cooking) and then back to the boards in between.

You just do what you can...lol

It ain't easy!! :rotfl2:

No advice here.I come here and my house is ok looking, but wouldn't pass for inviting folks over for dinner. Thank goodness I have no plans to invite anyone. The only person who comes to visit us alot, is DS10's best friend, and he really doesn't care what my house looks like. :lmao:

I would sugget the Snickers diet. The theory is eat one (two? three?) bag(s) of snickers to the point where you say "Enough already!" Salad starts to look good.

I'm to the point where all the lists are made (175+ things to do or times to note), all ADRs booked, all DIS threads read, so that when I have the "Don't forget..." moment and go to add it to my list, it's already there. Same with the discussion boards - now as I scroll the thread titles more often than not my reaction is "Been there, read that."

Get it all out of your system, then accept the fact that you will be ready for most everything and you and your family will have a great time.

Well, you should see my house! :rotfl2:

Seriously though, I know what you mean about not being able to pull yourself away from here when it is all so new - so much to learn that you never knew you never knew (say that fast five times!). One thing I did when I first found the DIS was copy and paste all info that I wanted to remember into a word document. That way I had it all right there together in one document that I could print out and read over and over and over!

Good luck to you! :thumbsup2

Clearly you need to go on a Disney Cruise!

THAT's what I was thinking!! Cancel that cruise, do a few days in WDW and a Disney Cruise after!!! (Still go to WDW next year, though!!)

Housework gets done in between computer time!!!

If ya think about it usually when on puter you not messin up the house draggin stuff out that has to be put away. You can do laundry while on puter as many has said before I've cooked while on here too and had to keep runnin up the steps to kitchen every few mins to check the food. I looked at it that I was gettin some excersise at the same time I was surfing on puter.

I admit that my house is a mess at the moment not because I been on puter been on the go for the past week and never actually got everything done last week I normally get done. I'm gonna go up soon and get a head start on this weeks work.
