How do you dine during the day if you book a dessert party that night?

What is your timeline of what and when you eat prior to a dessert party? A couple of QS, graze on snacks, etc? I know not to book a heavy TS dinner (or eat a light TS and skip dessert). Right now, we have a noon BoG lunch ADR and we plan to take a mid-day break after lunch, but just trying to get an idea of what others do/have done.

We're doing the Illuminations party in May. Our plan is to do a TS breakfast and graze around the F&G kiosks all day. If at MK, I would do a later lunch/early dinner and no dessert at lunch.

Late lunch and a snack later if needed, or an early dinner, no dessert.

Last time, Normal dinner at BOG (lamb I think) with a helping of the Gray Stuff (it's not that delicious) before heading to the dessert party but I'm a bad bad person. At least while I'm at Disney.

We still have dinner as we normally would and try to keep it on the earlier side (no later than a 6:00 ADR), we just don't order any dessert and then have our dessert at the party.

Not much different. I might chose lighter options for dinner, but even if I were starving, I can only eat so much sugar before it is too much. I just try not to go from a very filling meal straight to the dessert party. I think I have about 45-60 minutes built in for the party on Sunday after our CRT meal.

This is what we do as well. On our last trip, we did both the HEA and Star Wars parties. We simply had dinner around 5 pm that day and didn't have dessert. The dessert parties were about 3 hours later, so we had room to try a few things.

This was our plan last week when we were at MK and ended our evening with the dessert party:
Granola bars & coffee for breakfast, 1:40 late lunch at BoG which was very filling! Around 6:00, our teenagers shared some Casey corn dog nuggets while my husband purchased our popcorn souvenir bucket, then off to the dessert party! :)

We still did an early dinner. We aren't big dessert people. I booked it more for convenience. My husband isn't fond of crowds, humidity, or spending money.. ie.. Disney. He goes for us. So if I can make his trip a bit better by having a spot for the fireworks and not have to camp spots, etc., I do it.

When we did the FEA dessert party, we had a late lunch, then split some QS right before the party. There's only so much dessert any of us would want to eat.

We are doing BOG lunch that day. My plan is to do QS dinner around 6ish and skip any dessert. Probably Casey's. It's not so heavy. I'm not doing the dessert party for the desserts though. I'm doing it for the viewing area. I HATE waiting in crowds that thick. So we will partake in the desserts but I doubt we will use it as a meal or fill up on them. I'm mostly looking forward to the chocolate covered strawberries, cheese and fruit. So really a late snack. DD has a sweet tooth and I'm sure will love it all but there's only so many sweets you can eat before you get sick to your stomach.

We do a light quick service dinner, I usually get a kids meal. Anything more than that, and I am miserable after stuffing my face full of dessert at the party.

We make our last meal really early. So, 4pm at the latest. We eat enough dessert to make a meal out of it, but want something that is not sugar.

Had considered just eating a regular lunch and then a light dinner at Tomorrowland Terrace and going straight into the dessert party for HEA. Just seems like we could save a little time in the whole process. We’re booking mainly for fireworks convenience, although DD will have her share of sweets, I’m sure. ::MickeyMo

We ate in the lounge at the wave. Yummy grilled chicken sandwiches and a few glasses of wine.

Last Xmas, we did two HEA dessert parties. Both days, we did an early buffet lunch, and TS dinner at around 5 (entree only). IMO, the dessert party is for avoiding having to stake out a spot early and getting a nice view for fireworks (especially at busy times of the year). It's not for pigging out on crap.

I don’t think the Terrace does dinner. They are prepping for the party at that time so it’s all closed off.
