How Do You Decide Which Parks to Visit on Which Days ??!! Its Overwhelming !

If so...how come i can't find ANY info on the new celebration.... !!
He doesn't even mention it for October 1st. Wow...this is a big thing and if it wasn't for disboards, I would have missed it probably!!

Have you been on the forums yet? He has a private forum for each month, and then the rest is seperated out similar to here. A lot of the info is in stickies on there, and that is where the information was posted about the moderators. I haven't seen an article written by him yet, but he probably doesn't have any additional info to share. I have it set up that if there are any updates that affect when I am there, I get a private message notifying me.

I guess I would suggest that if you are a Disney veteran, you pick ONE of his recommended parks, and follow one of his recommended sample itinerarys. THEN make a decision on if you want to do your own thing, or follow his advice on the rest of your trip. If his advice has a dramatic positive affect on your day, I am sure you will continue. If not, ignore it, and ask for a refund when you get home. You probably don't need 90% of what is on that site, but the park days chart and the park tours are worth their weight in gold.

I just know that dh and I snickered and laughed at all the veterans standing in lines while we waltzed around the parks last fall. And we were there on a week just shy of holiday crowds.

See... I plan as I want to plan. I don't stree with "ooh what does this guide say..." or whichever. As someone else already stated(catherines_mama), she does the contrary of those books and it works for HER. I think that's the plan...do whatever works for you...

I plan on doing this exact same. Here's my schedule:

Oct 1 - arrival day approx 2:30 at hotel.
Get settled in (if room is ready) and then head out to MK (EMH pm)

Oct 2 - MGM afternoon (EMH pm)

Oct 3 - Epcot - Segway Tour - morning
Shopping day possibly - Flex day ;-) whatever we feel like doing!

Oct 4 - Epcot afternoon - EMH pm

Oct 5 - MK EMH (our last day)

Oct 6 - departure day.

i don't think we'll do AK this year... if so, it'll be a last minute "ok we feel like it" deal.

I'll be in the same parks on Oct 2nd, 4th and 5th. :P

EMH because I want to be in the parks a LOOOOOOOONG time. :P

I'm the OP: Thanks, I am going to read thru all your responses and get back with you ! :lovestruc :wave2:

I really value all of these opinions. Just reading thru these posts makes me very excited to make my "gameplan", but not to over-plan.
I really like the chart idea, make a column for each day, list the parks hours with EMH....
And I like the Park Hopping, do morning at one, back to hotel for break and off for the evening.
We do have 2 DD's ages 5 & 8, so it is quite different with little kids as oppose to just me at hubby being able to hustle around....
I'm not sure yet I will do the TGM thing.......I truly prefer getting info from DIS'ers who are really experts and first-hand knowledge!
It is Exciting !! pixiedust:

TGM is in the parks daily with his VIP tours. No one has more first hand knowledge than that. He can save you standing in lines, can tell you what days to be where and what to do when so that you have the best possible vacation. I know personally, I just returned from WDW and it was perfection plus. No lines, did everything we wanted to do and more, dinner shows, rest periodsl Not tired. Just perfect enjoyment. The only way to do Disney.

how specific are the plans from tgm?
do they factor in rests breaks?
dinner reservations?
kids ages?

I found that the TGM info allowed me to build my own touring plans. It's not like the UG, where you basically follow the menu. More organic, I guess. I agree it's confusing at first. Keep reading -- that's part of the fun of the vacation, for me, the planning. The more I read, the more confident I got about my ability to build my own touring plan based on my family's particular interests (kids, 7 to 17; adults all in our 40s). All in all, we NEVER waited in any significant line. For me, what TGM did was emphasize what a change the Fastpass has wrought in the touring plan. Efficient and effective use of Fastpass can make all the difference. We almost felt guilty with all of the lines we skipped. Too much Catholic grade school, probably.

You need to invest some time in TGM, and then be willing to take control over your own vacation.

Have fun!
