How do you deal with Disney withdrawal?

Start planning the next one. The planning is half the fun. Oh, and stick around here.

Hang out here - even when I don't have a trip planned.

Start planning the next trip, even if it's a year away. That gives me an excuse to visit here, plan, dream, etc.

I agree! Start planning your next trip, watch the WDW planning DVD, look at pictures and video from your vacation, read Disney travel books, watch the Travel Channel, and stay here on the DISboards. ::yes::

No Way are you the only one who feels like this after a trip....I am always thinking about our next trip (whenever that will be) let's just say there will be another visit to WDW at some point in our future. I have had to catch myself from letting the sadness of our trip ending ruin our last day there...it is even worse w/a long 2 day car ride home. I try and get my pic's up and/or developed a.s.a.p. and watch the video we have taken, and I put little souvee memories(room key, hotel map and postcards, monorail cards, etc) in an album. I flip through these a lot! Yep, we live where it is cold and dreary and I have a lovely Brother who lives in SW Fl who is always pointing out to me how fab the weather is, their quick trips to WDW, cruises etc....makes it all the harder. I also stop into the Disney store if I am at the mall...I try my best not to purchase, well, maybe some Disney Dollars...'cause they do add up. And of course, coming to the DIS and the WDW site as well...just for those quick photos!
Hang in there. You have now been bitten by the WDW bug...there is no cure, only continual treatment/therapy....AKA going again, and again, and again....:p

Spend time on the DIS boards and start planning my next trip.:D

:D

I'd look at photos from your vacation first and then I would spend a lot of time here, complaining about how sad I am and going through withdrawal (I'm not poking fun at you, I'd really do this :D ). I would then to start the early stages of planning my next visit, such as deciding which resort to stay at and getting as much info about it as possible.

I agree with everyone else.

* Plan the next one.

* Read and post here so you can share your experiences and learn new things as well.

* I make a scrapbook of our trips now and sometimes just like to look at those.

become DVC members and start planning the next vaca on the way home from the current one
Im sure we'll be "throwing around the dates" of next yrs cruise while sitting on the VWL balcony

I think most everyone on these boards knows exactly how you feel. It is really hard to come home after a WDW vacation. I would say to start planning (even if it's only in your mind) another trip, or just stay away from everything Disney for a while. I call it "DIScompressing".;)

Usually after a few weeks things get better. If not, you better cancel that beach trip and go back to WDW instead!:sunny:

I remember the first time we went back in 2000, I was SSSOOOO depressed when we got back. I couldn't even look at these boards. I was miserable. You absolutely, positively have to go back as soon as possible. We have since done a trip a year, and I don't get depressed anymore. I hate coming home, and I miss everything about being there, but I'm not miserable. Maybe there's some way we could get insurance to pay for our trips, ya know, it's a medical reason.:p It cures depression better than anything I've ever known.

Besides planning your next trip, even if it's imaginary, and living vicariously through other lucky people on these Boards who are going soon, I also try to find friends or friends of friends who are thinking about visiting Disney, so I can stick my nose in and help them plan theirs, too!

:)

The way I am dealing with Disney withdrawal is by moving to Orlando. I love it there. I always feel sad when I leave Orlando. I honestly truely feel it's my home.

Tired of snow...tired of cold weather, tired of over cast...just tired of gloomy cold winter. We're heading out to Orlando this July and we will be near Disney. Now, I can visit Mickey anytime of the day! :)
