how do you cover strollers 9for rain)

My maclarens came with a cover. You can also purchase rain covers at any baby store which fit most strollers. I believe they also sell ones for double strollers.

Years ago when I rented a double from disney, I brought a clear plastic shower curtain and some strong metal clips to clip it onto the stroller.

please advise

Years ago we got a rain cover at Babys R Us made specifically for our stroller (Graco). I think they had other generic ones made to fit a variety of strollers. It's just clear plastic that you put on the troller. It has flaps that you can either snap closed for complete protection from the rain, or you could fold the flaps back and snap in place, revealing screan mesh areas to allow for airflow (good enough when the rain is light). It came with a black mesh drawstring pouch for storage.

Just as regular ponchos can make you uncomfortably sweaty and sticky in the Florida heat & humidity, extended use of a "stroller poncho" can make it uncomfortably muggy in the stroller for your child. We tried to avoid using it as much of possible, and when we did use it why tried not to leave our son in there for too long. Whenever we went to get on a ride and it looked like rain was imminent we'd leave the rain cover on the parked stroller, so that we wouldn't return to a soaked stroller (we used our own stroller, and it has fabric)

I've seen people drape regular ponchos on top of the stroller. That might work, but if the poncho isn't clear the child might push it out of way or pull it down, wanting to look around. Also, the wind can easily blow a regular poncho off of the stroller. Regular ponchos work better on small umbrella strollers.

Last year we purchased .99 cent ponchos at Target. We used a couple of wooden clothes pins to secure the poncho to the stroller. Not bulky to carry around and it worked like a charm. We only used this when we parked our strollers. We did not use this when the kids were in the stroller.

For our upcoming trip next month, I bought a cheapie clear shower liner & will use clothes pins. HTH!

I used an adult size Stearns poncho that I bought at Walmart before we left and it completely covered my full size, basket, reclining Graco Stroller with no problem. I might make one recommendationt though: PUT YOUR NAME ON IT IN BIG BLACK LETTERS and SECURE IT somehow when you are on rides or in shows. We went into Nemo and Friends in Epcot and when we got back, someone had stolen our poncho right off our stroller. There was no wind, and no one else's was lying around or anything else that would indicate a "force of nature" caused it to let loose. I was so mad because my stroller was wet, I had to buy a new one at the park (which was four times what I paid for mine), and the quality was nohow as good as my Stearns. I learned my lesson. OUr name will be on ours and I will tack it on there so that anyone who wants to try to get it off better know how to work fast and conspicuously cause it will take awhile to unfasten it!!!

^^that really stinks My2QTs! people can be so lame.

I plan on just using the rain cover that is sold for my stroller (baby jogger city mini double)

if you buy a cover, make sure to get one that has vents! :)

I've used and adult sized poncho bought at the parks

I've done this too, I was really impressed how it covered my entire double Maclaren stroller and my kids stayed bone dry through a torrential downpour at AK. What I didn't like was that there was little to no ventilation.

We went into Nemo and Friends in Epcot and when we got back, someone had stolen our poncho right off our stroller...

That really sucks! Was there a CM at the stroller parking area outisde Nemo? There's usually one there whenever we've gone to that attraction. I realize that the CMs aren't really guards, and that they see so many people and strollers every day that they can't be expected to recall which stroller belongs to which couple, but I would think that their mere presence would be a deterrant for some thieves. Then again, they usually have their backs to the strollers, so they likely wouldn't witness any theft.

We have a large clear sheet of plastic we tie to the double stroller. That way we can still see the kids beneath it.

We have used rain ponchos in the past as well, but we like the clear plastic (that you can get at any hardware store) better.

used both poncho's and stroller cover. Cover definitely works better.

Also we bring two smaller blankets or towels with us for night time. One we use to cover the child if it is chilly and the other we drape over the top when it gets late and they are looking to fall asleep. Sort of blocks out the world. ;)

If it was raining, we took little one out of the stroller, put a poncho on her, and held her. If we parked the stroller somewhere outside during rain or when it looked like rain, we bought a blue shower liner at the dollar store, hooked it on the back w/ clothespins, and no wet bottom!
