How do you countdown to your Disneyland trip?

Out Girls Trip is in less than two months (Praise the Disney gods!) and I'm really wanting to make some sort of count down chart/chain/calendar. I'm usually pretty creative when it comes to this sort of thing, but I'm having a lot of trouble coming up with something cute and clever! What have you guys done to countdown for your trips? I'd love to hear/see your ideas and then maybe I can expand from that. Thanks!

We usually make a chain and a calander with the number of days left. I have two kiddos so each night one gets to cross off a day on the calendar and the other gets to take a chain off the link (then the next day they switch).

Here is a picture of one of our chains and the calander. (We had alot of time to go on this chain! :lmao:)

We make a countdown chain, too. We put a picture on each link that is from our previous Disney trips. Here are some pics of our last countdown chain from our WDW trip.

We have a "pixie dust calendar" - what we do is make a calendar with little boxes for the days and fill each one up with glitter, until the day comes!

I like to make countdown calendars with the same mickey shaped paint chips from Home Depot that we use for our LGMH's to show we are DIS'ers. Here's the one my friend and I made a couple of years ago:

We would mark the days off as we went along until D-Day. I got a little lazy with the title though after spending a couple of hours cutting part of it out from white paper. Otherwise I would have absoltuely loved how it turned out. I'm not a fan of my handwriting.

We have used countdown chains and we also have a tri fold display board with Mickey heads all over it. I think I may redesign it though. Certain days have Disney things on them be it watch a particular movie , make a Disney food or Mickey shaped food or sometimes play a game.

I'll try to take a pic of it once it goes up.

Hope it's okay I post this... the mouse for less (website) has a FREE printable countdown chain that you can print out. It is really cute. I printed it out today for our countdown. They also have a Disneyland travel journal that you can print out for free. The countdown prints out four strips per page so you just need to figure out how many days and print out the appropriate number of pages, then cut out the strips and tape or glue together to make your chain. Each of the strips have different DL characters. HTH :)

Everyone has such great ideas! After seeing what others have done and sitting on the idea for a couple days, this is what I've come up with. I went to Home Depot and quietly acquired approximately 90 Mickey head paint samples as well as approximately 95 paint samples from some other brand. I peeled off the Mickey head, cut the other larger paint samples in half and glued the Mickey head on one side. On the other side, I found fun Disney movie quotes or Disneyland facts and wrote them on. Then I glued pieces together back to back to make a sort of book and numbered the Mickey heads. This isn't an overly great description, so here are some pictures:

The cover (half a paint sample):

Each "page" of the paint sample has the quote and the other half has the Mickey head with the countdown number: (sorry it is sideways, I can't get it to flip!)
