Hello

so how do you all cope with the jet lag?

all i can think of on the plane is my bed i usually go straight to bed as soon as i get home but is it better to stay awake?

MICHELLE

Hi

When I got back I tried to stay awake at home for a couple of hours and then went to bed for a few hours just to give me some more energy. Then went to bed around 9:30-10:00pm. I was still quite tired the following day, if you can try and get the day off to rest if not just take it easy and have another early night and you will be fine the next day. This is how my husband and I do it and it doesnt take that long to get back in the swing of things. You just get depressed your back home and have the hump at being at work. lol...

Have a nice time.

Regards
Michelle

We tend to go straight to bed when we get home - but we mae sure we have a maximum of 2 hours. Then we get up and try to stay awake till 'normal' bedtime. It seems to work for us.

Hi

We usually arrive home about 10.30 am. Straight to bed, but set the alarm for 2pm. It's really hard to get out of bed, but then we try to stay up until at least 10pm.

That's usually enough to get back into the normal routine!

Yep, same again arrive home 9.00am ish. Straight to bed for 2hours then stay up till 'bed time'. You'll then be fine the next day.

Some people do make a fuss over jet-lag. IMHO it is not a problem. Of course it depends on flight times but usually 40 winks will sort you out!

I've spoken to people who say they need a week to get back to normal but this makes no sense to me. Get into your usual routine asap if you can, or pretend you've had a late night and snooze in the afternoon to catch up.

Jet-lag is no worse than than a hangover: have a wee sleep and you'll be fine in a day:D

Hi ya,

I usually stay awake until about 7- 8pm.

The first thing I do when I get home is get on the phone to my family and firends, to catch up on all the gossip. Unpacking is my next job and give out all the presents I've brought back for everyone.

I have dinner at my mum's and chill out for the rest of the day but I make sure I don't sleep. I get back to my house at around 6pm, and after a long soak in the bath I'm usually out for the count until lunchtime the following day. Once I'm up and about I start planning my next trip to florida.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

What a load of utter garbage - so what is good for you, everyone must be the same.?

next time my partner has bad jetlag, I'll tell her to phone you up Dr.

Like most others, we try to sleep for 3 - 4 hours when we get back, then keep going until late evening. Back into normal routine the following day and another early night usually sees us back on track from then on.

The last couple of long-haul trips we've taken (one to Florida and one to Canada), we've booked a day room at an airport hotel and slept there before driving home. Although it seems like an expensive few hours (around £50), it's been well worth it for us to make the long drive home so much easier - and hopefully much less dangerous - as we're not still half asleep from the flight.

Bit stronger than I'd jave put it but hey I agree with your sentiments. Jetlag is an accepted medical condition. Don't forget that some people can't sleep on planes so effectively they're going over a day without sleep. Personally, I consider myself unfit to drive, and even though it's a pain I still make alternative arrangements. Just like most medical problems some people deal with recovery much better than others.

Jetlag being like a hangover ? You've obviously not had a serious hangover either.
