I season my all purpose flour with salt, pepper and garlic powder. I dredge the cube steak in flour then in a egg (beaten egg) then back in the flour. I fry both sides until golden brown. After all the pieces are fried, I pour most of the oil out and leave just enough to make gravy. I use some of the seasoned flour for this. I use milk mixed with water and whisk until smooth. I then add the fried cubed steak back to the pan with gravy and let it simmer while I make homemade mashed potatoes or rice. It is very tender when cooked like this. I usually have green baby limas or a salad.
