How do you control the outside noise in the resort?

We are DVCers and usually stay at BWV but are making a quick trip this weeked with 2 rooms at POP. (We needed to bathrooms for our family and didn't want to use all of those points for a weekend.) I know that the noise level will be much different and am looking for hints to control it. We are accustomed to our home that has a constant fan noise, so very quiet places keep us awake.

Do you use sound machines? Leave the bathroom fan on? Leave the TV on? Earplugs?

Hints and helpful suggestions, please!!!!!!

We are exactly the same way. We drove to Disney so it was an easy solution for us. We brought a fan. None of us can sleep without it. If bringing your fan isn't possible, then maybe you could run to WalMart and pick up a cheap one for your stay. A box fan usually runs only about 10 bucks and are the BEST for providing white noise.

Hope that helped a little :0)

White noise machine from Target. Less than $20.00 and absolutely wonderful for drowning out noise.

I have to say that we had no more noise issue at Pop than we did at either BWV or BCV. It could have just been the luck of the draw, but we were in a back bldg on the third of four floors. No noise at all. But, if it might be an issue, I would either bring a fan with you or perhaps ship one if you can't bring it.

We bring our sound effects alarm clock and use the waterfall setting. You don't hear doors slamming, toliets flushing, night owls going back to their rooms at 3am...We won't travel without it!!! :flower:

Pitbulls. Lot's of pitbulls. That'll keep them away!

:cool1:

We also bring a white noise machine. We have a thunderstorm going during the night.

We might need one of those white noise machines - Pop Warner is there during the last couple nights of our stay!!!!

I have slept with a white noise machine for over 15 years now. We have travel sizes too. The kids are hooked as well. My husband snores too loud to even notice it is on :)

Bathroom exaust fan won't work, it runs on a timer.

Another vote for the white noise machine. We bring it with us every trip and it really helps with the noise. Earplugs are OK but they always seem to fall out halfway through the night. Another hint: if you have a connecting room, stuff a rolled towel up to the connecting door to cut down on noise from the adjoining room.

'Bathroom exaust fan won't work, it runs on a timer.'

Yup.

Also, the temp-control doesn't have a 'on' function for the fan to run without the a/c or heat (vs. the 'auto' function), so that won't work.

Another vote for white-noise machine/clock. Works great!
