How do you combine pins?

I was trying to while waiting for people at my party and wondered how. Because it's not working for me.

you can only combine the same pins to make it last longer when using them

It makes them last longer and shortens the time in between using them again.

First of all you can NOT be wearing the magic pins you are going to combine. Open your inventory screen by clicking on the chair icon, open your pin inventory by clciking on the pin tab, click on the magic pin you wish to combine, click on the "Combine" button, and then click on another magic pin of the same type.
