How do you change it up?

Well, I did it! I changed our res to POFQ instead of POP. I absolutely love POP, but I am ready to venture out! I know this sounds crazy, but it makes me a bit nervous!?

POFQ is very nice; smaller, and I don't know how the buses are to POP, but they're very good to POFQ. Very pretty surroundings, and you can always go to POR for the dining. Also, with the water transport to DTD, it's a great way to avoid the traffic.

Different times during the year (though end of April is our favorite). Different resort EVERY time. At least two new ADR's each trip. On our upcoming trip, we will have an infant with us, which will be totally different since we didn't take our girls until they were 3 and 5.

We go annually, and every trip is different for us....there are so many ways to change it up. :goodvibes

Our last 2 trips were very similar, but we're stepping out of routine in a big way for our next trip. We'll have some of our old familiar standbys (meals at Ohana and hoop dee do, stopping for dole whips!) but new experiences will include
Driving - we normally fly
New resort- staying at CSR when we've always been at WL in the past
New restaurants- Coral Reef, BOG (fp lunch), and Boma are among our new dining experience plans
Magic bands, FP+- we haven't been since they made the switch- planning this trip has been very different than planning the past trips!
New things at the parks- since it'll have been 3 years since our last trip, we have quite a few new/refreshed attractions to check out. Last time we were there, there were walls up around the new fantasy land, they moved Dumbo while we were there, test track was about to go down for refreshing, btmrr was in the middle of a refreshment. Looking forward to exploring the new fantasyland, especially 7 dmt!
Universal- since we're driving, we decided it's now or never- and with the opening of Diagon Alley at wwop, we're excited for that too. Lots of stuff we're looking forward to there- staying at Hard Rock, trying the express passes....

Easy:
1. change resorts
2. change dining (near our resort is good)
3. visit different times of year- weather is always a huge factor! as is seasonal décor/seasonal activities at WDW (F&W, Flower Festival, appreciating the amazing WDW landscaping at different times of year. Will you see pansies, roses, or lantana? HM looks totally different when the grounds are covered in blood red roses vs. when they are aren't blooming. )
4. Visit parks beyond the Mouse. Harry Potter is amazing!
5. Visit Florida beyond the Orlando area! Take your pick! Drive west to Tampa, East to amazing St. Augustine/Cape Canaveral/East coast beaches, Drive south through Indian River to Ft. Lauderdale/Miami, or far south to the Everglades, or keep going north and spend a day in GA or SC! Florida is an amazingly diverse state! It has so much more than just WDW!
6. You can also change your trip - potentially by changing your mode of transportation- both within WDW and outside of WDW. Taking bus vs. boat, getting a rental car (eating a few meals offsite, staying offsite), drive vs. fly to WDW, fly to an airport other than MCO (Tampa! :thumbsup2)
7. Go with a different group of people.
8. Vary the duration/overall budget of your trip. A luxury short trip is very different from a long (or even short) budget trip. bot can be tons of fun.
9. Add or remove a half day in DTD, the water parks, Disneyquest, pool time, arcade time, visiting other resorts, esp walking around the Swan/BC lake.

DBF and I love traditions while also trying new things along the way. We stopped renewing our Disneyland annual passes so we can make annual trips to the world instead (smartest decision we've ever made). We usually visit WDW in late Sept-Oct because we absolutely love F&W with the free dining and usually stay at Pop. Our most recent trip was at Universal's Cabana bay and AKL Savannah (ginormous upgrade from Pop) and this completely changed the dynamic of our trip.

Some of our firsts: extra hour at Universal, ADR's at Boma and Ohana, we spent so much more time at the resort using the amenities, Wild Africa Trek.

Some of our traditions: eating around the world using snack credits at F&W, pin and vinyl trading, mini golf.

This upcoming trip will be our 4th together as a couple and our first time in February. We've added at a cruise to our WDW stay and this has got me going research DISboard crazy over the newness of the entire experience.

There's so many ways to switch it up while enjoying the comfort of familiarity. Have a great trip! :)

Digging out this older thread to say I changed up the BOG reservation. The dinner items didn't appeal to the girls, so I felt it was best to let that one go.
Weird thing is, I have been helping a colleague plan her trip. She came in the other day and told me she made an ADR for The Plaza Restaurant at MK. Huh?
How have I missed this place? The food looked good - girls seemed interested - wanted to change things up - now I have a lunch ADR for it!
And so my bucket list continues . . . :woohoo:

We stayed at different resorts and try different ADR's. One thing I am doing different on my upcoming trip is spend more time in EPCOT.
