how do you carry your camera at WDW?

Seems like a silly question. But I live with my Nikon D3100 these days. Do most people carry them in a small camera bag, around your neck? I will have a stroller. But I feel like I will be taking pictures all the time. What is the best way to have it handy.

Thanks
Jenn

We have a Canon Rebel, and when we take it to the parks we just take the camera on the strap around our necks. No case. We only have a large backpack case for it and it just gets too bulky and hot. Without the case the camera is always handy when I need it. I do worry a bit about whacking it on something, but so far we have managed to be careful.

I carry a camera bag inside my backpack, but usually have my Nikon around my neck. Just a little tip if you plan to do this - buy a comfortable camera strap. I have one that I bought on amazon that I really like, it's a soft padded neoprene like material. And the other one is a cover that slips over a regular camera. I bought it on etsy, it's lined with minky fabric and really soft, but it gets a little hot in the summer. I ha ve one that we bought at WDW on our first trip. Really cute, but not as comfortable as the others.

I have a d5100 and I couldn't imagine carrying that around the parks!

I have a Nikon D3100 that I carried around the parks during our June trip. Blackrapid makes a cross body strap that worked great for me. It ties to the tripod mount of the camera and allows it to hang upside down on your side at waist level. It slides on the strap so you can quickly take shots. Very comfortable!

I will second the black rapid. I have had mine for 3 or 4 years now and it is very comfortable. The way it hangs it is out of the way most of the time yet easily accessible to take a quick pic.

I usually wear mine around my neck. The strap I use is made by Crumpler and is very comfortable. I also have a soft neoprene case/sleeve that goes over the camera body to protect it from dings and scratches. When I know I won't be using the camera for a while I put the case on it and either keep it around my neck or put it in the backpack.

Sling back camera bags are gods gift to mankind! I surely couldn't imagine not having my beloved Canon with me on vacation and those type of camera bags are perfect for hauling a camera around the parks and having it on hand when you want it!

Personally I feel like only having a neck strap is cumbersome when I'm not using a camera an I would worry about hitting it against something...

I third the black rapid. I bought mine about a month ago and don't know how I lived without it.

I will be buying a sling bag in the next week or so. Thinking of a crumpler 6 million dollar bag. It'll hold all my equipment and then some

To further reply on the black rapid. It has two slide locking mechanism. One in the back and one in the front. If you put the one that locks in the back in the middle of your back then slide the camera that way and lock it in place around your hip you don't have to worry about the camera as much

I have it on my d7000 with a 28-70 2.8 lens and its super comfy all day

I use a Bushnell binocular strap for my Canon EOS. Has double shoulder straps and doesn't put any weight on the neck.

I'm a photographer, and while it almost killed me to do so, I emptied out my sling pack... only took one lens and one body. I moved all my velcro partitions and my sling pack was what we took to the park every day. Without all the extra camera gear (like I said, even though I desperately wanted some of my other equipment, this was a family trip, not a photography trip) we were able to fit the camera, extra clothes for the girl, snacks, wipes, first aid kit, wallets, phones, sun block and bug spray, and a few other items, as well as a big water bottle clipped onto the side where I'd normally have my reflectors hanging. So yeah! Highly recommend just taking a big old professional sling pack. It was the perfect bag for all our daily-needed gear for the parks.
